Greece keeps on adding better players to their team and sending more of their players to bigger leagues in Europe for more experience.
Spain is going to be the team to beat this year. It seems like they are in there own class.

I like that the schedule is more friendly for us rather than 9 hours ahead. And I like how there are weekday games at 6pm ET, although the only one of those worth watching is the Ghana vs USA game.
My DVR will be on overdrive. And I may need to take June 26th off. And maybe a few more days for the latter stages.

Not bad. I haven't taken any days off. I'm looking at what days will be the best games. If I take off I'm looking at:
Fri 6/13 - Spain vs Netherlands
Mon 6/16 - USA vs Ghana & Germany vs Portugal
Thurs 6/26 - USA vs Germany & Portugal vs Ghana
Fri 6/27 - to make it a 4 day weekend
Fri 74 - Quarterfinals is a holiday
So I'd only have to take 3-4 days off to see what I want

Thurs 6/26 - USA vs Germany & Portugal vs Ghana

well if brazil wins any games... all of those..
and img, I can watch them at work as well... but I cant go to a pub and get rowdy, so I decided the bars would be the most fun at the beginning of the tourney and at the end.
I have plenty of vacay to burn haha.

^ not a bad idea. Last world cup I burned at least 2 weeks of PTO on staying home to watch the cup lol.
I can also stream the games online, but I also would rather be at home/with friends/at a bar watching the game as well.
Just got it confirmed, I'm taking off 4 days, and all days when the USA plays, so I will have 2 4-day weekends
And since I get to see all the weekend matches, I will be able to see 1/2 of all World Cup matches live. Not bad.

Ribery is out.
France still has a strong roster at face value.. but ribery is a clutch guy.
we'll see how it affects them. ( still expect to get out of group with some sort of ease)

Yea big loss, sucks for him, but France still SHOULD have enough to get through.
Lots of KEY injuries. They could play a big role. Ronaldo is probably out of the 1st game, if he is out of any of the next 2 games then I don't see Portugal advancing.
And I keep thinking about the climate. Switzerland plays Honduras in Manaus aka middle of the Amazon. Swiss might be the better team but Honduras are much more used the climate. I can see the game being tight or the Swiss winning at halftime but wouldn't be surprised if they Lebron and Honduras puts a few in the second half. And the same can be said for a lot of the matches where the good Euro teams are playing not-so-good Central/South American teams.

Jozy Altidore scoring twice is a big plus for our team. He adds another dimension to the offense with Landon Donovan out.
I am not 100% sold on Bradley maybe 95%. He shows great leadership, ball handling and vision but I think he lacks bite. Meaning, can he separate himself in the pitch, draw defenders away from a play and strike when needed.

anybody feel a sense of urgency when the US got scored on.
its almost as if they went into complete self-preservation mode.
the kind of mode that makes you lose games, even when up by 2 points.
I know in some situations you have to preserve victory... but against the right (or wrong team) it can be the dagger to the heart.
play to win..
nothing wrong with playing safe. holding the ball longer.. but they seemed to get scared, and quickly.

I got Spain winning in all my brackets. I just don`t see anybody out there playing better than them.
Portugal maybe?
Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, England have a ton of experience in World Cup and can`t rule any of them out.
I don`t have a sleeper team, but will say Greece just because.

Portugal's success hinges on if Ronaldo isn't injured and plays well. I can see them not even making it out of the group.
I just can't pick England. I know this is a different team than past tournaments but they are just historically so bad AND have Uruguay and Italy in their group... I just can't pick them lol. Can't go with Argentina either... always overrated.. great offense, lack of defense (which the Germans picked apart last cup).
Right now I'm debating my winner as either Germany, Brazil or Spain.
This bracket thing is a pain in the ass... some really tough choices!
FYI Acurazine bracket: http://games.espn.go.com/world-cup-b...p?groupID=1608 only have 3 peeps so far!
