Question Good Machine Shop in AZ???

My car was giving me P0300 codes:annoyed; misfire all cylinders, I did all the test for the coils, injectors, and pulled the plugs to inspect all passed. Then I did compression test, here is what I found:

Cylinder:
1: 160
2: 225
3: 220

4: 215
5: 225
6: 45

With this info it was clear why it was misfiring, the other codes could have been from these two and a combo of valve adjustment needed and new timing belt.

I did my own version of a leak down test I took the schrader valve out of my compression test hose, put the affected cylinders at TDC and put the hose back in hooked it up to shop air and listened for the leak.

Found it on the intake, so I know I need new valves, what I would like to know is where is a reliable machine shop in the Phoenix, AZ area????????

It's hard to say without seeing the heads. Depends on the amount of work they need. I had 800 in my truck heads but I had a lot of work done. I would take the heads to them and get a quote.

Can we get an update on the repairs? I'm hearing what sounds like a valve ticking issue and want to find a shop to do a tune-up at a reasonable cost.

The issue I had was a leaking valve, and just needed a valve adjustment. I was doing the timing belt and decided to do the valve adjustment at the same time. This solved the leak in compression, for my situation, and before I pulled the heads off I wanted to make sure it was not the valves, so I did a compression leak down test and heard the leak coming from the intake side and knew I probably wouldn't need to pull the heads.

Good work. Did you adjust the valves all around or just that one?

Does the TL FSM offer enough direction to DIY on the valve adjustment? You think I can borrow or buy the gapping shims from you?
