Sizzlin' June Markham Meet - Sunday 6/7/15@10AM-2PM
Hey Y'all...
Why not...the usual suspects...let's hang...
Thoiboi will be in town and it would be great for him to meet some of the locals. I'll see if Adam Predatorbird would want to drive down to hang out too. Switching to Saturday for a change...kick off the weekend with a little mini meet could be fun.
We'll get the BBQ going...bring something to throw on it and a cerveza and let's talk cars. Maybe get some rolling shots too.
See you then...
J.

Yeah I need some rolling shots myself. I think Jeremy might have a very short clip of mine somewhere. But I'd like to get a nice 15 seconds if possible lol. My front bumper is still banged up from that tire I hit on the turnpike and so is the side skirt. Rest of the car looks decent though. Installed an HIC roof spoiler couple months ago and it compliments the oem visors very well. Gonna have to do a major wash and wax for this ride.....been too long since I've spent some time on my baby anyways.

Don't forget, it changed to Sunday.
I'm not great at rolling shots, and Austin isn't going to be able to make this one...so we better hope someone with some camera skills is coming. Plus, 15 seconds...that's a video...rolling shots are pictures! Videos generally suck because depending on FPS...the wheels look choppy and not smooth.

June 7th... not this Sunday but the next.... I'm pretty sure I'll be able to come out... Are we looking to keep it small or go a bit bigger? I can try and tell some of the tsx crew people via IG...

True about the videos I guess. A good buddy of mine does photography and lots of it. I'll see if he wants to come out and take pics. Been trying to set something up with him anyways. I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

Sounds like the usual suspect: EGR blocked issue or a valve adjustment issue. Last time you did a valve adjustment? If recently, time to take off the IM and clean that EGR passage!

i wont be getting there at 3pm, ill have you know ill be camping in a near by spot till its time. and tell you what, if i gotta make the camrea man happy, ill personally season the dixjuice weiners this time lol no homo. and no i havent had a valve adjustment :/ just today i got a coil pack, and i unplugged and took out each coil with the engine running and it idles rougher on each one, so i couldnt really tell if it was a bad coil. guess valve adjustment it is. is it a pita for a diy or is it better to get it done somewhere?

Valve adjustments are cake....they just take some time to do. You will need new valve cover gaskets and some hondabond too. Also make sure the feeler gauge you use is clean/in good shape.

I'm sure there's a DIY in the 2G subforum for valve adjustments too.

I found the valve adjustment to be more tedious than the timing belt service...I would recommend paying someone if you don't know what you're doing. Also, I just bought new valve cover gaskets...where would you need hondabond?

same, i think valve adjustments are sort of an art. not too tight, not too loose... gotta tenderly do it and when you close it up, hope it doesn't come out worse than before! I got a professional to do it on my old Accord and WOW what a difference... The 16 year old car now idles so much quieter than my 3G! Worthwhile money spent.

I believe I need to have of those valve adjustments done myself

Personally my mechanic charged me about 150-200 (labor to disassemble the entire top end mostly) I brought him an OEM gasket set (valve cover gaskets, spark plug seals, etc..) that I bought from someone here for another 30-40 bucks i think..
it's worth it.
it's worth it.

Who is the most all around knowledgeable 3g person around here.... I need an answer to a question, before I buy something and then just test it on the fly.

lmao that face always gets me. its like a decrepit muppet face. lol. and damn, gotta get on that then. thing is i am not sure if its worth spending that money on this engine that has 183k miles on it. and the meet this sunday is looking pretty solid. any idea if we are finally rolling out to eat (hence the rolling shots) or are we gonna take things individually to grill there at the park?
