Louisville, Kentucky 105K Mile Service

Looking for recommendations for a place or person to take my 2008 Acura TL-S to for the 105k mile service.

Sorry if this is the wrong section but it seemed the best fit. I did search and could find nothing about local 105k service work.

Waddup?! To be honest, I'm several thousand miles behind on my 105K service. I didn't know there was one? What type of services do you need or does the 105K requires?

I do all the regular maintenance myself and sometimes with the help of the TLouisville guys. I've only taken my car to a shop once to get coils installed since I couldn't find to do it at the time. There's Oxmoor Acura in East Louisville you can take your type-s to if you're looking for some OEM love.

Thats what I have read for the 105k mile.

I grew up in Bullitt County but moved away for military and now I am back again. I went to oxmoor and I about smacked them when they did a "trade-in quote" while my car was getting its oil changed. They offered 7K due it being a 2008 and not a "high demand vehicle" which I know is a total BS lie. SO yea they wont get my service. Was looking for someone that does the work local for a decent price.

Wow, that's pretty damn informative and seems doable in your own garage as long as you have all the right tools! Have you checked all the parts needing replacement to see if they're worn out? Since the 08s are the last year's of the 3G, they're more durable parts than say, the 04s -06s. I would only replace if it's broken, but that's just my opinion.

I've actually been looking around myself to get this done. I've been told you can realistically hold off till 110-155k but it's best to start planning. I've spoke with the Lexington Acura dealership and they quoted me I believe $600 to do it and the oxmoore Acura was like $800ish. My preferred mechanic is Aaron at the Winning Formula. He does spectacular work and I believe he quoted me around $1100 parts and labor for timing belt service, valve adjustment, and plugs. Only reason I'm even debating on then stealership is that they will give you a loaner car while its in there and I would be without a car otherwise.

The thing with the dealers is they quote you low because they won't change out the water pump, termostat, and something else to keep the price low but then they get the car in and magically your water pump needs to be replaced so then they charge you accordingly. You will spend roughly 700-1000 getting it done around here. I've had quotes all over the place.

LeMix I saw you over the weekend sir on outer loop. Car looks great. We need to set up a meet soon

I checked with the Honda Dealership of Hardin County and was sent the following:

" Sorry about that, I was sure I included the price on the attachment. Total $1934.90 + tax. Also, I would need the car for at least a complete day as these services call for 10.5 total hours to complete."

Needless to say I think they may be smoking crack

Neil Huffman just quoted me $1850.

Where the hell is the $1K markup coming from the rest of the country?

105K Service
- Oil Change
- Balance and Rotate Tires
- Engine coolant flush
- Replace platinum spark plugs @ 105,000 miles
- Valve Adjustments @ 105,000 miles
- Replace Timing Belt and Tensioner
- Replace Drive Belt
- Replace Water Pump

The price that is bumping it up is the valve adjustment and plugs. The price you are thinking is just for the belt service. Technically the 105k service doesn't include valve adj and plugs i believe it's like 115k but while its in there most places will go ahead and quote you on it. I know I'm going to do the valve and plugs when I do it this year (I'm at 106k). I've been having a rough start for the past few months and I'm going to assume it's the plugs since they are 10 years old and have 106k on them.

Aaron at the winning formula quoted me $600 for labor on the belt. So I assumed I would get that kit everyone on here orders that's roughly $200 so $800 for belt service. He told me he tries to stay below 20% on dealer rates.

Oh, and regarding my earlier post saying that oxmoore quoted me $800 was bogus. I called them to confirm and they said $1200 for just belt. So the guy that I spoke with the first time was blowing smoke up my ass
