Hi all,

I have just bought my wife a nice 12 Acura MDX with 35.000 mi Tech and Entertainment package from another State it was a good deal in my opinion.

It has RES but i don't know what it is can anyone enlighten me.

Rear Entertainment System?

It is the Rear Entertainment System which consists of a flip Down screen, DVD player and headphones. So if you have youngster, you will be all set!

I purchased my MDX+RES from another state. I forgot to double-check for head phones with the RES; which, they were missing. I purchased replacements on eBay (infrared wireless headphones). The Honda headphones like from an Odyssey will work just like the Acura ones from eBay. I made sure they were new because I didn't want someone elses earwax on my head. You can also plug in three 3.5mm wired headphones right below the rear A/C vents.

You can also access audio entertainment in the rear like you can from the front. You can't access two different channels/stations on the same source at the same time like XM Disney in the rear and XM talk radio in the front (there is probably only one XM tuner).

The RES gives you a 115watts/100v plug outlet in the front armrest instead of a cigarette type power outlet. You also get widow position rear heated seats. There is a composite RCA input (Yellow for video, red/white audio) if you wanted to connect a playstation or another video and/or audio source to the RES. The DVD player for the rear can also play audio CDs, MP3 or WMA discs.

Between all that and our iPad mini with +20 movies and netflix; our 14 hour vacation drive from Albuquerque to Houston went by pretty quick.
