(2nd Gen TL) Factory Headunit w/sub to Aftermarket Headunit w/sub

Hello All!

I have a 99' TL and just did the aftermarket amp and sub swap with a factory head-unit.I gotta admit i didn't expect it to sound this good! Now I want more control over my whole system so I finally bought an aftermarket head-unit today. With that being said im trying to install this ASAP..but i have some hypothetical problems before I even get started playing around with my stereo.

Since I am running the aftermarket amp and sub set up from the spliced orange(remote wire) from the factory headunit and blue green sub outputs, i was wondering is there any possible way of keeping all my wires the same with the aftermarket head unit installed.Meaning do i really HAVE to run the remote wire and rca cable from the new front headunit all the way back to to the trunk, even although i already have the stock wires running from the front to the back?

Forgive me if i'm sounding unclear or silly this would be my 2nd install myself ever and i don't want to, nor can i afford to mess up!

of course you have to how else are you going to be able to run that amp, I hope this helped, but this is what I understood from the thread and I think your main concern is you don't want to run the rca's and remote from front to back, if you have any ?'s please let me know.

You are going to have to run new wires. do some research about removing the panels and which ones to move. i dont exactly trust myself so when i decide what i want im having professionals do it

i suggest you install the radio and give it a shot. it wouldn't hurt anything. worst case scenario would be the after market amp wouldn't turn on. just make sure you use an aftermarket harness so you don't have to splice the factory one... if you haven't already figured things out
