ABS and TCS light stays on now!
ok so i searched and i can't seem to find a solution for the issue.
so abs and tcs light have been coming on and off while i been driving for about a week now and i go to start my car today and now they stay on. i've pulled the clock fuse from the passenger dash fuse panel and ive pulled negative battery terminal trick too and still stays on. i jacked up the car and checked each sensor and they all look fine to me.
is there a way to pull the abs and tcs codes so i can figure out which speed sensor to replace?? ugh now i gotta dip into my oem lip kit fund

have you tried having a parts store run a code scan for you?--its free
It may show a bad wheel speed sensor for example
just looking at the sensors will only reveal if a wire is torn loose or sensor knocked out of place
you have to really inspect the wiring and the electrical specs on the sensors
Many fail from rust in wires,,you can pull it right out of the fitting!!
if parts store scan doesnt show anything,,a real brake shop may be needed--they have a different scanner, just for abs fault codes

can i check the codes through the obd 2 plug? or is it a separate abs/tcs plug?
i have an obd 2 scanner laying around but i was under the impression that would only give me CEL codes and not the ones i need.

Ok I'll give it a quick scan after work.
The car rode fine no problems whatsoever. Never had tcs or abs lights ever pop up other than a few times during the winter. I took each speed sensor off and sprayed wd40 and cleaned the old metal shavings off. Wires are intact nothing is stretched or pinched. I did lower my car a few weeks ago but idk if that would affect anything since the wires aren't damaged

so i hooked up my scanner and found nothing. guess ill have to give auto zone or something a call and see if they can scan for anything. i know for my previous nissan maxima there was a separate port to scan for abs faults but idk if that pertains for the tl too

most Autozone cannot scan ABS codes. You can do the paperclip trick to retrieve those codes. I've tried the paper clip and was able to retrieve the ABS/TCS codes no problem. You can also clear the codes with the same method.
If you are not comfortable doing so, stop by a brake shop, alot of them have the scanners to do so for a small fee.
good luck.
PS> ABS/TCS light might be due to abs system or transmission. For example, a transmission pressure switch will set off the abs/tcs light but not necessarily the CEL. Wheel speed sensor will also set the ABS light.
One more thing, check all fuses before you proceed.

well i went out and used the paperclip method to find the codes since nobody can pull the codes for me around here, autozone, advance, napa...
i got:
ABS code 13
TCS code 31
now i'm having a difficult time finding what these mean. i've checked all fuses related to abs and tcs on both driver and passenger side fuse panels and also under the hood and nothing is blown

so i guess ABS code 13 is front left sensor, i understand that guess ill have to replace that not big deal. but i believe TCS code 31 is TCS inhibition....
WHAT does TCS INHIBITION mean??? is it somehow tied to the ABS system meaning if i replace the front driver speed sensor the TCS wont be inhibited?

Most of the Time if there´s a Bad Speed sensor the system Shut Downs completely and sends Wrong Signals like theres a Bad ABS Pump and Such!
When my Speed Sensor was Loose I got 6 Codes!!! Saying that my Pump Failed, My VSA System was Damaged, Etc...
Tighten the Speed Sensor VUALÁ! Everything was back to Normal.
Try that Before you get worried of the TCS code.

fix or replace the sensor and the other code should go away
as the system is now functioning

weird so i bought a replacement sensor about a week ago and also got a set of spring boosters for the front, since im not liking it this low anymore. i boosted the front up about 3/4" and took it for a test drive. while im driving the ABS and TCS light go off and havent yet returned...weird
i wonder if lowering that far caused any issues, there wasnt anything rubbing or crimping the wire.

that you can see while driving~
but under loads.....
replace the wheel speed sensor thats indicated bad and fix the actual prob
The wire is probably loose inside,, or crudded up

I have an acura 2003 TL.. It runs great except for the 1st 2nd gear wont transition which basically I hit the gas but the rpm's just rev and I literally haveto put the car in nuetral for a sec then place back to Drive. I brought it to a transmission shop my friend owns and he found a ground wire that was fried so he replaced it. Needless to say that didnt work.. I have my ABS, TCS and check engine light on altogether and it read left front ABS sensor fail 61-1 code. I did some research and it says "inactive ABS light could cause inaccurate transmission shift points?? Could you explain what that means???

Also that DIY shows a civic. Where do you find the same module on a 2G TL?

the SRS reset is for a different problem of clearing a false code
what exactly is your problem/symptoms? we may not need codes!
did you look on the TL for the connector? ever think how many Honda products use a similar layout- makes wiring looms easy to build

the main ECU connector for codes is in front of the shifter
Put shifter in D1 then reach into that space and pop the cover off
any battery shop will know this location, or most parts stores if going for a free code reading
NOTE I just saw `new` tool added to harbor freight. A reader that does read and clear ABS codes! it the most expensive of the 4 they carry, but on sale for about 125 dollars
Considering shops charge that much just to read the codes and misinterpret them...

^ Dont forget to engage the E-Brake/Parking brake !! otherwise the car will roll if not on a level surface.

Yeah, I know about going to autozone to get the check read for free. Sadly I've called all the ones around here and none of them do ABS.
What I am referring to is reply 7 that talks about a paper clip trick to read these codes? I can't seem to find any information about how to do that. Or am I way off base?

I would say they confused what you can do with/without a code reader!
you can get regular ECU fault codes with a code reader
with a special reader you can get and clear ABS/SRS codes
Parts stores do regular ecu reads
Shops do abs/srs but may require a specialty shop!
you can CLEAR SRS with a paper clip
you can use buttons on AC electronic display to get fault codes for itself
You can reset oil change reminder with trip buttons
You can adjust outside temp reading with trip buttons
With srs or brake warning lights we can usually figure out the real prob without codes

codes are CLUES, not a diagnosis in themselves
always report codes back here along with symptoms
the combination of those and some logic reveals source of the problem
