Double Platinum vs Platinum Plugs

I just went to Autozone to get spark plugs for my 01 CL-P. They sold me platinum plugs (ZFR5FGP) instead of double platinum in the car manual (PZFR5F-11). Is there a significant difference in anything? Wondering if I should go back and get double platinum or iridium. Thanks much!

No, they sold you the G-Power plugs. Get one of these two:

Iridium: ZFR5FIX-11
Laser Iridium: PZFR5F-11

Don't settle for less than that. They aren't the cheap plugs, they are about $7-$10.

When I had my car on the dyno the tq curve wasn't the smoothest so I switched the plugs while it was still strapped down on the dyno. I went from ngk laser platinum:4363 to ngk v power:5791 it made a noticeable difference compared to my previous runs. My friend that owned the shop suggested to do it since he had them in stock and uses them on a lot of other cars. I was surprised since those plugs were a lot cheaper.

You're using the wrong plugs. HP/Torque curve is not something you can measure like that. You have to let the car adapt and change its timing with the new plugs. Our ECU really likes to unnecessarily retard timing.

Your car is NOT running correctly with the V-Power plugs. There is a difference between compatible and correct.

Search over on the TL side, and you will see MUCH more support for not getting the wrong plugs. Stick with the 2 options I suggested.

I looked on acura oem parts and my car calls for (PZFR6E-11) (NGK). I had those in my car originally (4363) then I swapped them out for the 5791's.

Lazer iridiums FTW. Good for another 105k.

Then you swapped them out for the incorrect plugs. NGK Iridium plugs are the ONLY plugs you should run in this engine. The choice is between Iridium IX and Laser Iridium. Both good.

I felt the same way when my friend told me to swap them out. I told him multiple times I paid a decent amount for them and that's what my engine calls for. He promised they were better so I decided what the hell why not. I will have to agree with him because the next few dyno pulls we did were a lot smoother across the whole rpm range. So I decided to just keep them in. I have to put a new set of plugs in again anyways since I'm putting nitrous on my car soon. I have to go one step colder than the stock heat range.
