SweetJazz Detail: 2007 TL-S, Spring 2011

Another installment of paint OCD, SweetJazz style! I have not polished my car in over 18 months. No worries since the paint still looked better than when I first drove it off of the dealer lot. Gloss was really off the chart this time. The sun was filtered by some high clouds so I could not get a clear sun shot.

DETAILS

1. WASH: CA Duster with a 70% IPA wipe-down. The car was recently washed and smoothed with clay.
2. UTENSILS: Flex XC3401 VRG with 5.5" Green LC CCS pad, Speed 5, for paint. Porter Cable 7424 with 4.0" Green LC CCS pad, Speed 5, for rear bumper, paint above doors, and side/rear skirts.
3. POLISH: 1 x Menzerna Nano Polish (PO106FA).
4. WAX/SEALANT: 1 x Wolfgang Fuzion and 1 x Wolfgang Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant.
5. TIME: 10 hours.

Very nice. Really impressive!

I did my car (NBP) 3 weeks ago. I thought it looked great....did it on an overcast day. When the sun came out the next day, it revealed that I basically made the car clean but swirly.

Next weekend I'll be polishing it again... ooofff.

Wow, the paint looks great. Do you have any problems with the clear bra when polishing and do you recommend it?

BTW..do you have any high res pics?

Thanks, I sill love the fuzion wax. It was pretty expensive at the time but there many good sealants at an affordable price. The foundation is in the polishing. The wax/sealant is the icing on the cake.

I have been there a few times myself. Pick up a Brinkmann dual xenon light (~$25) to check your work every step of the way. That light has been a tremendous help to me.

I do not recommend polishing the clear bra since I have had a bad experience a while back. There are some people that recommend it for the 3M product but it is very unforgiving if you mess up. I recently replaced mine after 4 years and 50K. I will only use products like Plexus or a good Quick Detailer. I have been told that waxes/sealants tend to dry out the material. Of course, a CA Duster is a must for my daily paint maintenance. The original pics are like 3-4MB each. I can try to send one via e-mail.

I use an antistatic Quick Detailer and that helps plus I park in a garage.

My favorite is Finish Kare 425 (FK425). You have to order it online.

Without a doubt, Stephen owns NBP.
And Dale owns the White Pearl.
