Damn DC Sports header...
So I got a DC Sports 4-2-1 header, V2, just over 3 years ago (May 2007). In that time, I have had the original weld at the flange reinforced, and I have had the flex pipe changed 2 friggin' times (May 2008, Aug 17, 2009). Surprise surprise, the flex pipe is on its way out AGAIN -- just before the 1 year warranty on the part (none on labour) runs out next week.
I'm sick and tired of this bullcrap with DC Sports. I've had the header lengthened by about 3/8" to 'prevent' this -- apparently it hasn't helped.
Are there any chronic problems with the COMPTECH header? I am going to swap this out for a Comptech soon if the Comptech should be a better part.
Any opinions?
Does anyone else with the DC header have this kind of bad luck with the flex pipe? Hell I even installed an ingalls ETD on near-max stiffness to curb engine movement, and it still hasn't helped at all.
ARGH. DC SPORTS -- YOU SUCK!!

Sorry to hear.
The CT header is ok, but it tends to rattle at idle with the A/C on. It’s a real pain sometimes; but you choose you poison, I guess. I’ve had mine for about a year and it seems to be holding up well. In addition I had mine coated by jet-hot, so I can’t attest to how an uncoated CT header would affect under-hood temperatures.
If I had to do it again I’d investigate the 06-08 stock header, however; I’m unsure how much a 04-05 TSX would benefit from a 06-08 header. Perhaps someone here can provide feedback.

Weird, I thought the CT header only rattled on the A/T cars (lower idle rpm). Although there is apparently a fix somewhere out there which I'd do if it rattled.
Then again though the Japspeed is 6x cheaper in price, so if each one lasted me a year, I'd still be ahead even after 5.5 years!

Do you also have the comptech catback?
I got the catback first and the header after. I was planning to add a resonator to the catback to quiet it down, and it actually toned down the once header was installed.
perhaps the two work together and there is some mismatch between the comptech parts and stock parts that cause rattle?
i saw the fix for the CT header, but I will not be doing this because there is no need. i have an MT, and a/c or not, there is no problem. the exhaust just gets a little louder when the compressor cycles on at idle.
I noticed that the OEM header is supported around the area that the comptech merges from 4>2, but most aftermarket headers don't hook up to this bracket. maybe this could help?
the flex pipe on the comptech part is also not nearly as flexible as the flex on the oem a-pipe...

I still have the stock header but none of the spring-bolts or oem gaskets. If anything I'll go with another aftermarket header I think. I don't want the loss of power associated with the stock 2004 header.
