front windows can be tinted in ct to 25% (must transmit 75% light) gives it a nice look imo.
headlights can be tinted yellow im pretty sure
What are the allowable colors for my after market lighting?
Any lightvisible from a motor vehicle should be the following:
- Any light visible from the front of the vehicle shall be white,
yellow or amber.
- Any light visible from the forward most edge of the rear
tire of the vehicle to the front of the vehicle shall be
amber or yellow.
- Any light visible from the forward most edge of the rear
tire of the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle shall be red.
- Any light visible from the rear of the vehicle shall be red
or amber.
(Effective July 25, 1994)

You probably won't be harassed too much but not sure of the legality of the issue, you definitely won't pass inspections. Check out or CL forums as well.

don't like comeplete black tints, personal preference. was mostly wondering tail lights/headlights, but think i'll be good. thanks for the info on the smoked tail lights.
also im in NJ 3 days out of the week which cops have nothing better to do in my town there. since car is registered in CT pretty sure they can't bitch about the tints and crap cause in NJ can't have any.

No. In accordance with Connecticut State Law Title 14 Sec. 14-99g, the side and rear windows may be tinted to the point where at least 35% light transmitted can still be transmitted through the window as darkened, provided that the reflectivity does not exceed 27% reflectivity.
made a mistake with the 25% i guess

CT tint law
I got pulled over with 20% on all my windows... (before I had my Acura) I actually think the law is 35% on the front and they dont really care about the back windows. It's an issue with cops if they can't see you... especially in CT

I was under the impression that it was 30%. A while back I had went through most of the CT motor vehicle statutes and that's what I had remembered.
The coolest law we have is a law legalizing the use of radar detectors.
Btw, I'm from Westport as well, just moved here 2 years ago. What do you drive?

I've got eyelids on my MKV Jetta and they cover up a good portion of the headlight, no tickets yet and I don't imagine I would get any.
In Westport so long as your windows aren't too dark and they can see you, you won't get pulled for headlight tints. They're very lenient.
