Just go down to see Tim at Ray Laks Acura in Buffalo. I got my A-Spec kit for ~$640 USD. Drove it across the border with everything stuffed in one giant box and said it was only a bumper cover, paid about $15 in tax.

Personally, I'm just gonna wait and get it next year. Winter is coming Hopefully the price will go down a little by then.

i jus got off the fone with someone at acura 2000 in b-town , they are nuts!! asking 2100 full kit pkg.. wow... ray laks in buffalo seems to be the smartest choice... i just want to get this kit before it comes obsolete from dealerships...then price of the kits would sky rocket...and hard to find... i rather pay for new then used ...so times ticking...any luck anyone?

Acura Woodbine used to have good deals but they closed the door. call Toronto Honda maybe they have some "left over" from Acura Woodbine. they are sister stores.

buying from Buffalo is a good idea, remember, there is no duty if the origin of the parts are in NA. Acura Canada is not reducing the price and there is very little room for dealership.

Good to know... so no duties for the skirt as it was made in North America?! say if coming back from border that customs tries to pull a fast one????

i've heard of other members saying they paid duties for their skirts....

the kits are probably made in Japan, then shipped to the US. (FYI), so origin is not USA.

Why don't you guys do like one of member on here did (Kris), he only paid $15 in taxes, so the total less than 660 bucks for the whole kit, can't go wrong on that.
Just a thought.

Peace.

Yes everything is duty free under NAFTA. But each item has a specific rule of origin they have to meet in order to qualify for NAFTA, even if they were made in the USA/Mexico.
If the goods don't meet the rule or origin, you pay duty, plus taxes. If you have a business number you're using, you're exempt from one of the taxes.

just a fyi. 2 weekends ago i drove to Ray Lak's Acura, it was approx a 15 min drive at most after crossing the border. Picked up my aspec skirt ( those boxes are HUGE ) got to customs, told them they were "bumper covers" lol advised i spent $300 us. and they charged me $40 bucks cdn duties.. not bad. so duties and kit i ended paying about $810 cdn

Why not have it installed in Buffalo and drive back - is it that expensive to have it installed by the dealer in the US? I'm thinking of getting the kit for my new 4g tl installed in buffalo and drive back

or you can just have it shipped. I bought a front and rear lip and it was only $60 to ship it to my door. that included all duties and taxes.

hey i know this may be unrelated kinda, but i want to know where i might be able to buy parts from canada online (i am in the US btw, colorado to be more exact), and the parts i want are not exactly available here, and never was , and never will be, cause they came on the 2003 A-SPEC TL, so yes the 2G one

cause i would love some FACTORY blacked out headlights, and then also part of the Factory painted grill also

Just call up some local dealers, you'd be surprised what they do. I'll be picking up a full kit for the EL (front, rear, side and rear lip) for under $1000 total. It used to be about 2300 dollar option, so not a bad deal. Their old stock is just lying around and they want to make space.
