Hennessey: Camaro HPE550 (based on Chevrolet Camaro) news

From here: http://www.supercars.net/cars/4504.html

Defined by its engine upgrade, the HPE550 Camaro is the first supercharged engine kit to be offered from Hennessey. Not only limited to power, Hennessey has also made a list of other upgrades which can comprehensively change almost every aspect of the Camaro.

The engine uses a Hennessey/Magnuson supercharger which raises horsepower to 562 bhp. To accommodate the new system, Hennessey also fit a new air induction system, high-flow injectors and recalibrated engine management. A nice option is the stainless steel exhaust system with long-tube headers and high-flow catalytic converters.

With the 'Complete' package, Hennessey fits a rear lip spoiler, front splitter and side rocker panels. An exterior graphics package calls out 'Hennessey S/C' on the rear quarter panel and includes stripes on the hood. Further options include HPE550 wheels, Peddler's coil-over suspension and Brembro Brakes.

A cast iron block? It's great for strength but it must weigh a ton! I thought GM would have gone with an aluminum alloy block or something along those lines to save weight...who knew?

That's hot.

I assume they were saving the alu block for the Z28, should it ever come about.

Exactly what the Z28 would have been with the CTS-V motor had GM not sidelined it.

Is the iron block the auto L-99 only or is the Camaro LS3 iron instead of alum.?
