anyone spray tint the side view mirrors?

Just wondering if anyone's ever tried using transparent blue hobby spray paint on the side view mirrors to give 'em a cool light blue tint. I bought some of the spray and sprayed it on a piece of clear plastic to test it out but haven't got the nerve to try it on my mirrors yet. I think it'll look pretty close to real blue tinted side mirrors found on some cars. What do you think?

After I painted my rear taillight turn signals, I have this urge to start tagging other stuff too I guess. This could prove problematic if left unchecked.

I have a pair of mirrors without the heat pack. I wanted to have them treated with the same coating they give certain sunglasses. There are companies that do this but only mass production. I dont think that a spray like that will go on even nor last long enough to be worth it

Nighthawkblack, I agree that the only problem I forsee is that the spray might not go on evenly and cause the mirror to reflect a distorted image. But hey, the spray can be easily removed with paint thinner if I mess up right? Hmm...this is tempting. Maybe I should just flip a coin.

Hey Veils, how's it going?

I painted my rear tails red. I think I made it a little too dark, but oh well, the signal still shines through.

Just to let you know I have that done on my Legend and the hobby paint will peel after a few months. If it doesn't the sun will cause the the paint to become a little hazy. What helps to solve this is if you put some tire-wet stuff on it. Something to lubricate the paint so it doesn't crack. It will still become hazy, but the lubrication on a regular basis helps to make it look fresh again. Then after about a year or two, the paint will actually start to come off a little bit at a time. Then you will need to strip it (paint thinner doesn't work, I haven't done it yet, but I've tried).

I believe that a company called Folia-Tec makes a tint film just for side mirrors so that you can tint them all sorts of colors.
