GNX
1896 Pontiac 6000 LE...My dad had one and that thing was HUGE I couldn't reach my brother with the both of us stretching when we were young. My dad then gave it to his second cousin, who did God knows what to it to buy an even older civic  I really wanna find the car and restore it...it was my dad's last car.

Speaking of which I saw a MINT GN in front of a bar earlier tonight. Very clean but the owner looked like a tool so I didn't talk to him. The alarm kept going off almost randomly it seemed.... when you talked shit about how sensitive the alarm was, it went off. the shock sensor was probably on its most sensitive setting. Also the car was remote started without the owner in sight for a good 10+ minutes. Still it was nice to see it.... it seems EVERY GN I see is in pristine condition, knock on wood.
Looked just like this almost, same wheels (stock GN):

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
G Body
I'm biased because I have one. In late 1985 I was driving a Mustang SVO. A fun car that was pretty quick at the time. One early morning during a spirited drive on a secondary highway I was passed by a black beast. A black, whistling dragon that I could NOT catch.
A 1986 Buick Grand National
Bought it new. It now has slightly over 10 000 miles on the clock.

I loved those body styles. The Hurst had the "lightning rod" shifters. The only car that was fast was the GN, and the GNX was better.

6 Forward 1 Back
'89 CRX Si

I thought the delorean had a 6 cylinder engine, and the 240's a 4?

Three Wheelin'
Prolly no less reliable that a 6 or 7 yr old 7 series bimmer imo.

True. The 6-cylinder version of that old Volvo bodystyle was called either a 262 or 264 (2 doors or 4), but were otherwise indistinguishable from the 4-cylinder 240 version.
The V-6 in question was a 2.8L, 90 degree all-aluminum SOHC 2-valve mill, a collaborative effort between Volvo, Renault, and Peugeot. 130hp in the DeLorean.

I shouldn't have bashed the DeLorean. It's a cool looking car (especially in it's day).
Part of me just feels slow = POS.

^^ Cars that look fast but are actually slow do nothing for me. The Delorean may be cool looking/reliable/capable of time travel/ but it's never had that 'gotta have it' appeal to me because it's not packing any heat.

There's something about driving the piss out of a slow ass car, which is fun to drive like a stickshift Integra. Fast cars on the other hand just attract was too much attention and you can't drive the piss out of them because it'll get you a ticket with the quickness.
Just because its fast doesn't mean its fun to drive. Not that I'd exactly want a slow car but still

Another car I loved from the eighties is the 1982-1986 Toyota Supra. It's angular lines, the lovely sounding straight six, and the Lotus tuned handling. I haven't seen one for years...............

Currently in the Stable we have a Buick GN, mint and looks exactly like Terry's. however this spring were looking to beef it up a little bit but nothing to radical.
My father is also looking for a second GN and possibly another olds/442. always liked these cars.
two other cars i have also liked from the 80's is the Supra and MR2.

I think one can argue the '82 GT was the first car from Detroit to represent the performance resurgence of the eighties. Remember opening the hood of an '82 GT and seeing that aluminum air cleaner cover sitting over the carburetor with twin snorkels attached to it?

+1 for the fox body, the 85 gt is also one of my favorites... but im more of a notchback guy, i really want to buy a 93lx notch as a project car, but it would require me to sell the tl since i no longer have a job.. before i got laid off, i was trying to save up for one.
You guys remember the Capri bubble window version of the GTs? Always found them one of those ugly yet desirable cars, kinda like a Gremlin with a 360 V8 dropped in it.
