Drive Postion Memory system question
When i go into the car the dash detects driver 2 (i have transmitter 2) and the seat position is set to how I want (stored memory). My friend drove the car with my keys and adjusted the seat to his liking and when he was done driving and we go into his house. I come back out and open the door but the seats don't adjust to my memory setting. I hit the "2" by the door and still doesn't change. Is this suppose to happen?

What year is your car?
Just asking because I have the same problem with my 04.
I set my memory seat settings and my sister drives and always adjusts the seat and next thing you know, memory erased.

I have an 04, it seems like everytime someone changes seat the memory resets, I then have to go and change the seat position and reprogram my setting

Seat Won’t Go to Memorized Driving Position When Opening Door
Currently Applies To: ’07–08 MDXs, ’05–08 RLs, and ’04–08 TLs
Helping you fix it right the
first time - every time
Got a vehicle in your shop because the driver’s seat won’t go to its memorized position when you open the
door? Here’s what you need to do to find and fix the problem:
1. Using a keyless remote, lock and unlock the doors.
2. Check to see if the remote is linked by opening the driver’s door and turning the ignition switch to
ON (II).
• If you see

WELCOME DRIVER 1 or WELCOME DRIVER 2 in the MID, the remote is linked.
Go to step 3.

remote. Press and hold the remote’s LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time until the LED

3. Adjust the seat to a new position, and store that position in memory.

door activated (center) position. (The DPMS must see a door open signal from the door switch circuit.)
• If the interior lights come on, troubleshoot the DPMS according to the applicable S/M or ISIS.
• If the interior lights don’t come on, test the driver’s door switch and replace it if needed.

well this sb supercedes the other where body codes for l/r, horizontal/vertical mirror actuators body dtcs were stored, called for mirror actuator replacement. which would cause dpms functions not the be remembered.
this is part of sb-09047

• After shifting out of R, the power mirror does not
return to its normal position.
• When shifting into R, or adjusting the mirror with its
adjusting switch, the mirror chatters or pulses.
• The DPMS doesn’t recall one or both of the mirror
memory positions.
• The DPMS moves the driver’s seat 1 inch, then
stops.
PROBABLE CAUSE

Old thread... I know. Did you guys head to the dealer or to your local shop for the mirror actuator? I thought that my problem was a fuse. Replaced fuse #20 with a 10A as per the TSB but didn't get the proper results. My driver side mirror, however, will attempt but fail to tilt when I shift into reverse. So, the answer to my disobedient seat memory is my mirror? Seems strange.

Can you set the seat for driver 1 and driver 2 using the same car key? We have the rdx and it is my wifes car but every once in awhile I will drive it and she just hands me her keys. She has driver 1 set but I don't think she linked it to her key. I was thinking of I set driver 2 up and clicked the button it would change the seat and mirror settings. Is this not the case? I just didn't want to screw up all her settings (since she is pregnant and comfortable) if that won't work.

It won't erase her settings, unless you have a defective memory unit.

Set the seating & mirror positions you want, then save with DPMS button #2.
Your wife's use of the #1 remote will move everything back to her settings.
IDK if climate and audio preferences are saved by the DPMS, but they are stored on the linked remote for each user.
BTW, there is an RDX forum you can access through the bar at the very top of this site's pages, and each forum has links to the on-line owner's manuals.
