I'm in the middle of trying to install my REAR PCD...

I already have the front PCD installed, and now I'm working on the rear. Is there a special or a helpful way of removing the 4 bolts from the top some how??

I removed the front strut bar and I still can't see the bolts. I see the rear PCD but can't visually see the bolts. Is there anything else I can move out the way so I can see it, or am I supposed to be trying to do this without being able to see anything?

Also do I have to completely remove my J-Pipe off the car?

For the front PCD I just un bolted the nut for the front pre cat and put the pcd in it's place and bolted the j pipe right back into it. Can I do the same for the rear? Or do I have to remove the whole j pipe

I just installed move the other day....I needed help along the way as well....

for the rear I couldn't see it so I climbed up on the engine and look down...u can see the 2 top ones but the 2 bottom is hardbto see but there...just take your socket and try to see if u can feel for it...

text me if u need help...a lot of things you still have to look out for

I removed the first 2 cap and socket of the spark plugs in the rear...helps and gives more room....make sure u remember which is which tho

Thanks man, did you have to completely remove your J-Pipe off the car to remove and install the PCD? or did you just un bolt the 3 nuts going to the J-pipe?

Also, did you remove the cat by pulling it UP through the engine bay, or did you pull it DOWN under the car?

I think others have suggested that as well - lay up on top of the engine.

Might be helpful to loosen nut/bolts downstream (J-Pipe, etc) to give a little more wiggle room as you're manuevering to get your parts in and out.

Does this piece need to be removed from under the car to remove the rear pre cat out? It looks like some sort of mounting bracket for the rear pcd for the bottom of it.

We took out that bracket when we were removing the cats. Also my buddy laid on top of the engine as we was working on the rear car. After the bolts were out we wiggled it out of the top. I did drop the j pipe for the instal just so we could have more room to work and just reinstalled it after we were done. Good luck!

i pulled my jpipe when i installed mine. go from the top to remove the bolts. they are a pita then. you will prob need to pull the heat shield off also and wiggle it out towards the passanger side

This. I folded up a blanket for cushion and laid the blanket over the radiator and intake. I used a small ladder next to the front bumper. Up the ladder, then lay down on my stomach on the blanket with my chin being where the strut bar would be. I had great access to the rear fasteners (rear nuts sounded so wroooong). Using a flashlight or drop light helps too.

The cat comes out the top...I had such a hard time..the shields are so big...the bracket you took a pic of I just unbolt the one side then it swings out of the way for u...u might need a friend to help u guilde the cat out...where are with it now

thanks all! managed to get it done. we removed the heatshield and pulled it out through the top as mentioned. Man that heatshield was a pain to get out!! Took us 5-6 hours.

As for the bottom, my buddy just unbolted that one bracket that I took a picture of. We were able to remove the rear cat and install the PCDs without completely taking the j pipe off the car!

Started the car up and the rear cat was leaking bad. It was SO loud it sounded scary lol. Turns out I forgot to tighten the 4 bolts on the rear cat. heh. Fixed that and now it sounds better.

I believe I might be getting a flex pipe rattle during start up, so I may need to check that thread out to see what order I should be tightening the nuts. I had my v3 pipe installed for a month before installing the PCDs and never had a weird sound at start up / idle.

As for how power feels... I reset my ecu so the pedal felt real responsive so I couldn't really tell lol. I'll have to do some more driving

I also get random rasp around 3100-4000 rpm. I would rev it to 3100 and hear rasp than shift. I would rev to 4500 in 2nd gear and no rasp. I would rev to 3500 again in 1st gear and no rasp. It's random...

08 base with completely stock cat back (stock resonator, mid muffler, rear mufflers)

Adding this resonator to the stock exhaust should kill the rasp. Remember I said add not replace. Here is a picture from a type-s what was just in here.

totally just ordered one of these. IMO it is a must-have on your list of exhaust components if you're running PCD's.

What adding a res....I'm about to replace stock res with magnaflow res.....anyone also done this...any feedback ...I do want sine sound but not crazy stupid rasp

Here is my set up...

right now RV6 PCD installed. I have the RV6 Jpipe, but i couldnt get the jpipe bolts off so im waiting for my Magnaflow mufflers/tips and res to come in and have the exhaust shop install the jpipe at same time...

i was going to go:
PCD - Jpipe - Replace stock res with Magnaflow res - remove 3rd cat/mulffer -then to the dual mufflers.

or should i do the ADD magnaflow res and remove 3rd cat?

or should i keep it all on and also add a res...

i do want some sound, not not crazy crazy stupid rasp

Then add as many and as big resonators that you can throw at it. The PCD is called the Beast for a reason.

if you read the thread, above...................ADD a resonator...not REPLACE........



this means keep your midmufflers and resonators and ADD the magnaflow.

one, more time..

DONT REPLACE. ADD.
