dealer experience on TSBs
Well, like many of you, I just experienced the same bad dealer service on the 3 TSB's. Also had them work on my center console rattle.
I explained everything when I made the appt. about resetting my lost Onstar minutes and registering the XM. I went over it all again when I dropped off the car. And, I went over it again when they said it was ready to pick up........
Guess what............
Picked up car.......they were very nice..........got in car and hit the Onstar phone button to verify......NO minutes remaining. Great.....they didn't reset them. Next, I looked down at my center console.........they had pryed the center cover off and in doing so ripped the leather on both sides of the trim pieces.......like I wasn't going to notice that one!
I went in and spoke to the svc manager. He apologized and pulled up instructions on the Onstar......went out the vehicle.....talked with Onstar and they reset my 100 minute purchase and gave me an extra 30 for the trouble....NICE. I showed him the rips in the leather......he apologized and said he would order a replacement.
I pulled out of the lot and hit the XM button......NO XM. Turned around and went back.......they refreshed my XM and apologized........15 minutes later it is working....GOOD.
Go to work this morning.....NO XM. Call XM on the way to work.......don't have it registered......try to register and to get my remaining free months....the dealer had to do it since I didn't have the old unit's ID.
Called Svc Manager and he fixed it this afternoon.
WOW......too much hassle for a few TSB fixes.....that ended up with more problems!! However, the svc manager and the staff were very nice and apologetic.....that made things much better and kept me from getting pissed. Hard to be mad at people being nice. AND...the rattle seems to be fixed.....for now.
