Auto for MT TL's

Acura of Peabody, 12 miles north of Boston has an 08 Bronze TL Type S with MT and 51k miles. They are asking $ 22,400, this would include 7yr power train coverage. The front bumper has numerous scratches and gouges, the bottom shroud for lack of a better word has a crack in it. The rest of the car is nice, new tires and drives well, real tight. I was surprised at the lack of torque in second gear but the car has plenty of power and zip.
That being said, I have an 08 TLtype S, AT, 78K miles. Car was rear - ended and had minor damage that was repaired, also had the front bumper and shroud painted, color is the black pearl, black, painted stock TLS wheels, car is sharp. I tried to work a deal for the bronze 08. Dealer wanted to give me 16 K for my car and have me pay $6K out of pocket. Dealer told me the bronze TLS would be restored to new condition, I walked away shaking my head. I will keep my AT TLS for at least another 20k miles. What do you think of that deal?

Believe it or not ~$16k is actually the Kelley Blue Book suggested trade in value of your car, and $22k is not unreasonable for the MT TL-S you were looking at. The suggested retail value in excellent condition is $24k, so factor in the condition you described and $22k makes sense.

And sell your car private market you may get more for it. Not around here though after admitting to a wreck lol.

But those are your options.

16k trade in actually sounds pretty fair for an 80,000 mile accident history TLS. You can get more private party but assuming it has an accident on its carfax will scare some people away and will be a little tougher to sell.
That price for the manual TL sounds about right from a dealership. You can find better deals, but it's up to you if you want to go through the hassle and time to find one. For example I got my immaculate CBP 08 type s from original owner with 24k miles 2 months ago for 22k. Private party blue book at the time showed 26k. I was thrilled with that deal!!

I would trade it. Not bad offer considering it been in an accident. Question is how badly do you want the mt?
