Morning everyone
I've got some oddities to share with you guys about my squeaky scratch noise.
-I took the serpentine belt completely off and the noise did go completely away, telling me that it's either the belt, a pulley, or the tensioner.-I took the serpentine belt completely off and the noise did go completely away, telling me that it's either the belt, a pulley, or the tensioner.
-When I spray belt dressing on the serpentine belt, the noise goes away completely for about 15 seconds. This leads me to believe that perhaps a pulley or the belt tensioner is not rotating at the same speed as the drive pulley (due to bad bearings or whatever) and when I spray the belt dressing on, it allows the belt to slide more easily over the pulley which eliminates the noise temporarily.
-When rotating all of the pulleys by hand, they felt fine. They didn't have any additional drag than I think they should have.
-There was one pulley on the bottom right (closest to the front passenger headlight on the very bottom) that had a very, very, very slight amount of play. Should I more closely investigate this?
Is there any surefire way of determining whether or not I do in fact have a bad auto tensioner? It rotates fine.

Pulley on the bottom right is for your A/C compressor.
The one in the middle is just another fixed pulley for the belt.
I know this is going to be hard to believe, but if you replace your belt I am 97% sure the noise will go away.
Even though when you spray it and it comes back shortly. Have you taken belt off and bent it to check for cracks on the ribbed side? How does the belt look conition wise, are the markings still on outer side.
I still say change your belt. My car sounded like crap and I changed belt only and voila, fixed.
Serpentine belts should be replaced every 25-35k miles. If you live in extremely hot and dry areas I will change on the low side.
I do all my maintenance on the harsh side.

I shall give a new serpentine belt a try. I don't see anything notably wrong about my current serpentine belt, though. The only things that is completely unexplicable to me is that this happened literally right after I went through the car wash (which included a nice, automatic undercarriage spray wash.)

My local acura dealership had the belt alone for $47 before tax. The tensioner was $130 before tax. They have an online store too and the price for the belt is $28 online and the tensioner is $80. If you spend over $100 online, you get free pick up in store. I ended up going to my local Acura dealership and buying just the serpentine belt and had them knock off $10 so it came to $37. If I need to get a tensioner, I will order it online along with a gallon of engine coolant so that I can eclipse the $100 mark and get free pickup in store and the $50 discount.

I think I paid 32.00 for mine. Not bad for OEM belt.

I'm a little sad that I was not here for the unveiling, but just finally got over the flu. My kids have all been home from school coughing and puking all over me. Vomit on your hands makes it a little hard to type. now to make up for lost time LOL
