what a rip off.

I can't tell what color the band's are on your resistor but since you still have it can you tell me the order of the color bands on your resistor? with that information I'll be able to tell you what resistance the resistors are..

I did this mod on a 1995 honda accord sedan and it worked perfectly...

Slade, let me text Sean (Buda)....he did mention he had some resistors he can ship....

wont be more than a buck for 2 resistors....(1 to install and 1 just incase)....

Are you good with a solder gun? if so, just swap out the resistor and you should be good to go....

Viet, once I get home from work I'll be more then happy to tell you the colors.

Swoosh I've never soldered before but I'm gonna give it a shot, I feel like that's the only way I can get it done right at this point I'll PayPal a chase quick pay a dollar for two, that sounds like a great deal lol. I like this forum can I be a member even though I don't have an acura? My k2;4 accord is similar to the 1st gen TSX

Ok so from left to right the colors are: either gold or brown, red, purple, then yellow.

also from the colors, it seems like 4.6K ohms at 5%

you need .24 ohms

so doing this mod, eliminates putting resistors on either corner when replace stock bulb with led?

I already have resistors for the rear blinkers

Yes doing this mod eliminates the need for using those resistors you tap into the wires.

This mod is the actual CORRECT way to fix hyper blinking.

Installed a 1/2W .24ohm resistor, LEDs all around, works perfect.

It was $1.09 from radio shack. They have an eBay store as well.

Works Perfectly!

Just did this today with my white led blinkers (non switchback), works like a charm. Burned myself once, but otherwise no casualties Thanks again for figuring out this method

I have one leftover .12 ohm 1w resistor if anyone needs it, just pm me.

I have vled v3 triton switchbacks and vled v3 triton rear turn signals. What resistors should I get? One .12, .06, or a .24? Thanks

The tritons have a built in resistor to prevent hyper flashing.

But if you still want to do this mod you'll need a 0.24 ohm resistor. That'll be enough to cover front and rear leds.

But like I said the v3 tritons already have a built in resistor.

In my scenario I already had a 0.24 resistor soldered into my relay. I purchased my v3 triton way after and with the v3 tritons you are able to disable the internal resistor by simply removing the fuse in the control box.

That's helpful for people that already did this mod.

Hey Viet, I put the front switchback v3tritons in yesterday and already have hyper flash that's why I looked up this thread. So I guess it might not have one... I dunno. I don't even wanna use my turn signals right now because I feel like a yard driving with hyper flash

That's very weird. When I installed my front v3 gen2 triton switchbacks I was worried that my current "modified turn signal relay" would conflict with the triton switchbacks.

I grabbed the paperwork that came with the triton switchbacks and I noticed immediately it said something about "internal resistor".

If you would like to use the resistor you can leave the fuse attached. If you don't want to use the resistor simply unplug the fuse.

Try looking through the paperwork that came with your tritons again. I'm sure its got to be in there!

Hey guys, haven't been on here recently. I posted in this thread a while back (Post#990) Turns out that the problem was with my front LED's. Switched to switchbacks and everything works as advertised. Thanks OP.

They've changed the instructions on us, I didn't copy over viet's post from the VLED's thread, but they used to say don't hook up the fuse if you donn't want to use the internal resistors (meaning, you have done the hyperflash mod) and now say do hook up the fuse if you want to use the internal resistors (same meaning, different wording.)

So to clarify, NBP, on the wire between the light and the control box is a black cap, pop that bad boy off and stick the 5 amp fuse they supplied in there, that should get rid of your hyperflash, otherwise, do hyperflash mod.

Edit:

Add the fuse right where my pinky finger is

Actually the previous instructions were to remove the fuse if you didn't want internal load resistance, but the one I bought said to not put it in if I didn't want internal load resistance.

It seems like Honda has gone away from the relay circuit for this altogether. I was looking to do this mod on my 2012 accord as I'm moving parts over from my tl and found the flasher circuit is now integrated into the drivers side fuse box MICS (multiplexed integrated control system) and would require me to remove and pop the fuse box open and then try to identify the flasher circuit and see if the mod can be done to do it to the accord. If I had a spare one I'd be willing to give it a go but the driver MICU is $200 and I don't want to try.. If mdx is similar were outta luck until someone decides to pop one open

I'd say if there is no flasher relay that you can remove it's probably integrated into the MICS

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but I followed the instructions here and soldered in the resistor. It works when the headlights are off. But when I have the headlights on and I use my turn signals they still hyperflash. Can anyone tell me why? I have leds in the front and rear turn signal sockets along with 6000k hids in the headlights.

Where did you get that resistor? It does not look like a typical resistor because there are no color bands on it to indicate the resistance.

Is that a 24ohm or 0.24ohm?

To be honest, I can't remember where and I'm not sure if it's a 24 or .24. Can you tell me which one I need?
