Loved it
it was awesome, I just did it today and noticed the throttle response!!
I've had the 04 for a year now and have been irked by the lack of throttle repsonse but just figured it was Honda's tuning... but saw this post and gave the ecu a reset and the lag coming out of turns is gone!

i used to be able to rest my foot on the pedal, now i'd have to hold up my foot off of it and it's hurting my shin!

can someone post a link to the official steps to follow? Just curious... i tried the method mentioned here but I think did something wrong because I didn't notice much difference.

Drifting
-insert key in ignition and twist to ON (just before the crank/start position)
-flat foot the throttle for 10 seconds
-release the throttle and twist key to the OFF position but DO NOT remove key
-wait 2 minutes (i actually timed it)
-start the car and drive normally
you should notice a difference, especially if you make a few quick jabs at the throttle. WOT starts and midrange punch are noticeably stronger

i have an 06 with 41k original miles. i try and maintain the car as best i can and it still had a noticeable improvement. its not like it transformed into a whole new car, but it just came "alive" more now

Doesn't the Type-S have a different ECU? That could explain it...
I say you guys are smoking some crack lol :-) I did the ECU reset on my 07 Type S before I left work tonight and noticed no difference. I even tried both methods mentioned above exactly as they were described. Shifting was exact same and throttle response felt the same. Acceleration felt good but thats probably because it was only 34 degrees driving home. Maybe this only works on the older TL's who knows. I think this is one of those things where your mind was playing tricks on you and making you want to believe it made a difference.

Probably, I mean it does have a different transmission and engine all together so it very well may. Like I said before I tried both methods mentioned and it did nothing to my 07 auto Type S. Not that it matters because resetting the ECU doesnt add HP anyway (as some seem to make it sound) :-)

Is there any negative consequences to doing this TOO often?
I have a 6MT TSX and I am going to try this right now and if it works Im gonna want to do it more and more often im sure.

Resetting the ECU - On a TSX
Hey BukvaMan and everyone else... I know I'm in the wrong place, but I read this and decided to do it on my TSX. Why not right? Well it worked. My car does respond better and yes ZOOM ZOOM. I remember telling the wifey that my car just felt lazy! Now, I have a smile on my face even as I type this. For those who are skeptic about doing on their TL, it worked on a TSX.
K I'll take this to the TSX side, just wanted to share this.

i personally did these steps:

so i just did this to my TL and i beat a shelby. and on top of that, i did 0-60 on just 4.6 seconds! this is so amazing.. there is a god..
hahajk Inaccurate
Wow, i'm surprised that this works.. i gotta try it out myself. I wished i knew this earlier so I would do this before going to the track..
