Front Grill

Hey everyone.....I am probably (most Likely) not looking in the correct location, but could someone PLEASE direct me to a thread that addresses painting the front grill of a 3G without removing it from the car OR how to remove the grill from the car.....Thanks

I can't direct you to any threads, but don't forget plasti-dip. Every imaginable color now including metallics and glossifiers. And if you don't like it just peel it off.

Thank you, I did that first, and it came off after a few car washes....decided to go the paint route instead thinking it should last longer.

Either youve got a crazy car wash or bade plastidip job. My grill and emblems survived 2 winters.

To remove the front grill you need to unbolt the front bumper cover

Next the grill is simple to remove. Just look behind and unscrew and be careful not to break some of the tabs.

Vinyl it black. Vinyl can be removed, and it doesn't chip like paint will if freeway debris hits it.

Couldn't agree more. I had vinyl on for almost 3 years with no issues. Decided to try plastidip, but that's already chipping/peeling after 6 months or so.

If you want to paint it though. Use adhesion promoter and bumper trim paint. I used that when I originally blacked out my grille years ago. It was way better than plastidip, IMHO.
