Thanks homies!
Yesterday on my way to grab the munchkin from school, I had some fun with a MYDP.
He was in the far left lane doing well below the limit as I was cruising at +/-12 mph above him.
I was in the same lane and didn't feel like slowing down, so I moved over to the right to pass with the intent to move back into the left lane again. Something told me he was going to gun it as I got beside him.... aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnd, I was right.
I dropped from 6th to 4th and took off (as did he)! I slowly pulled away from him around 125 / 130ish, but had to back off not to miss my exit!
He gave the thumbs up as did I while hopping off.
@TylerT Would be proud
Come to think of it -
Good thing I still have spiked punch in the tank w/ optimal conditions yesterday; not sure that would have been possible without.

It's entirely possible I'm having a brainfart on this but .. what is a MYDP?

The fact that a MYP held on that long is pretty surprising, that one is the slowest of the "performance" bunch.

The upside to the blower, it excels at top end grunt. It just keeps pulling all the way up to redline in every gear.
Guesstimation as it could've been a few ticks slower in speed as I was not paying attention to the gauge when I was pulling away from him. I was in 5th when I backed off, well past 125 when I looked down.
Doesn't take much to get up to those speed tbh
I've driven the performance variant of the 3, S, & X.
This past winter, I also drove the Plaid as well.
It may be the slowest of the bunch (MYDP), but still no slouch.

Whats up with RDX owners?

I've walked M3Ps above 70 in my Golf. I wish they had more punch at highway speeds. Good kill.

Yeah, they don't have a ton of pull over 70mph because no transmission for mechanical advantage. Only way to get more punch at higher speeds is to add power...or a transmission.
The EV's will eat a lot of things between 30-50mph though.

Repost of this video but, relevant to the discussion:
After running my buddy's Model 3 Performance from a few 40 rolls, I agree - he had a car on me until about 85 / 90mph but I really lengthened the gap as it got over 100mph.
20mph / 1st gear roll was ugly - I don't think I passed him until around 125mph.

I wouldn't though, dare attempt to take an EV from the dig.... might break something in the process
Btw the way, love the nature boy call sign

Hi!
Grabbed an R60 JCW a few weeks ago, such a fun little car.
Great to be back in a Mini.
The S5 is still alive and well
The RRSA too, has been stout hauling the fam around. Don't believe the myths!
That's all for now.

Nice
I've always been fond of the R50, love that SC whine & the tiny size.
Took some learning to drive well with the throttle lag.
