Hid help do i to replace a ballast
hey i have a aftermarket 10k hid kit in my car and the lights died. i was wondering can i buy some ebay 6k hid lights and put them on without changing the ballast or w.e? thanks

well did both the bulbs die ?
1> check the fuse (i bet that popped) and also check all connections
2> disconnect the ballast and connect some halogens there (assuming you have a 2G or the bulbs are in the fogs)...if the halogens light up means you getting power until there
3> switch the HID bulbs to see if they light up....if they do then something is wrong with ur bulbs
4> if they dont light up, ur ballast are the problems

yes....just make sure its the same "type" of bulb....
example: replace a 9006 with a 9006, H8 with an H8, and so on....

How are you sure its the ballast? Check the bulb for dark discoloration
