I will take some pics of the damage tomorrow, it really isnt that bad, but i know its there and you can see it in the light pretty well, i tried to shine it back up by conditioning it with leather cleaner but that just doesnt do it. The alcohol pretty much ate the shiny finish off of the leather and it is about 3 inches around. I dont know about some of you but i am very anal when it comes to my car, and i am very thankful that acura is covering this even though it was my fault, and im pretty sure if this would have happened to some of you that you also would be trying to get this covered under factory warranty also!

Glad your problem was resolved without the ethical conniptions some members were undergoing.

Regardless, I appreciate the heads-up on the rubbing alchy and I'm glad the problem was resolved; if you have a hook-up by all means use them.

i had a package of scented oil on my backseat that leaked out of the package.
it left a spot the size of yours on the leather. the leather had a suede look in that spot.
I thought it was ruined, but it dried up after a week & disappeared.
it went back to "normal". as you know, the leather is cheap and i hope you'll get over it.

Did you try some leather conditioner to hide it, rub it out? You should give it a try, your seats look a little dry.

It amazes me that the rest of you aren't more angered by the fact that a new(er) $35,000 car would have leather that would perform so poorly. As stated earlier in the discussion, even hand disinfectants have rubbing alcohol, which shouldn't ruin the leather. I would completly expect the dealership to cover the repairs, simply because of the pitiful resilience of the seats.

The main purpose of my thread is to let people know that alcohol and some cleaners may ruin the finish on your leather to help prevent this from happening to you, it may be an easy fix that a leather doctor could do but my car has very little miles on it and i want it to look new, and yes i do take the blame for this but i just spent $35,000 on a car from they so i dont see why they cant help me out because the dealership can goodwill things under warranty despite if it is self inflicted, i see this happen everyday at my honda dealership. Previously i owned an 04 accord v6 6-speed accord and misshifted the car and they replaced both heads and the labor under goodwill warranty without a problem, so acura and honda of america do take good care of their customers. I didnt expect to get so many rude replies from members about this, i just wanted people to be aware that their leather is very delicate!
