Interested in an 09 RL Tech - What to look for?
Hi all,
I'm going tomorrow to look at an 09 RL with the Tech pkg and 61k and some change on the clock. I did some looking around here about known issues, but really most of what I found was about the early year models(05, etc).
Just curious if there is anything in particular in the 09+ KB2's that I should be looking for outside of normal things. Having had Acura's in the past, I know they are pretty reliable, just want to make sure I cover my bases.
Thanks!!

Check the trunk under the spare tire for water. There seems to be an issue with water getting in. Some leaks are coming from the sunroof drains. Mine came from bad taillight gaskets. Easy fix for both. I've had extremely good luck with my '09 otherwise. Zero issues. Owned for 2 years w/155,000 kms on it now.

Hey,
Coming from an 05 RL(bought brand new), in 2013 I bought a CPO 2011 Acura RL Advance(mint condition) with only 12,000miles, for 35k. I got a great deal. Check around for pricing on and 09+ RL, they are a lot more reliable than the 05-08 RL. You should be able to get one on the cheap. You should have no issues, just make sure the car has a clean CarFax. Nothing to look for, really.

Look at the messages in the nav center.

In that same vein, I've been searching for the right '11 or '12. In addition to "issues", what about maintenance, i.e. timing belt, major tune-up intervals and cost especially after 60-80K miles?
I plan to keep it 2-3 years depending on how the RLXh pans out.

most maintenance items will pop up in the MID, the on board computer...
timing belt, water pump, spark plugs are all 105k mile services.
you should keep up with oil changes, tires and brakes.
an '11 or '12 model would most likely be brand new and only need a few basic items....
inspect wear items and if worn, replace...

I've looked at a couple but, prices seem to have a wide variation regardless of region or warranty status.
I'd prefer under 50K miles and buy extended AcuraCare through Hyannis. I'll consider Zurich but, it's difficult to assess Zurichs' pricing on coverage.
