'07/'08 base Navi disc vs. Type-S Navi disc

Is there a differece between these 2 discs? I looked on the page below, and it doesn't specify Type-S.. not sure why. How do you order a Type-S dvd?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no difference between the Nav units in the base TL and the Type S. Accordingly there is no difference between the Nav discs.

I think you have to call in and request it. Btw, they have the 2014 disc coming out in about 2 weeks. The 3rd week of september.

I had a friend have a problem with the ordering of the 2013 update disc and they wound up with two. Even though it was for their RL, it is the same disc for my TLS and/or it works fine. So for the time being I'm all set with Nav updates.......

cool. free is nice. I have received double shipments on 2 orders but I returned both. anyway, I did notice both the typeS and the base tl have the same part numbers at www.acurapartswarehouse.com. by the way if you compare part numbers for 2 different years on that webpage, you have to be careful to not change the webpage for 1 after you chanve the vehicle type for the other. because its all cookie based, and the vehicle type will change if you navigate around in both windows simultaneously.

Also, if you click on that link, it will tell you at the bottom of the page that it is complatible with the RL and other cars. Just i was not completely sure if it was compatible with the typeS. But it might be.

Does your display have red for a background? I'm sure it does blue. But what about red.

The nag screen and the menus can be displayed in red, but not the maps themselves.

Ya, the menus. Not the maps. I just mean where it says cd, aux, am, fm and that sort. So if all 07 and 08 navi DVD players have the same part number and you think all.of the 07/08 discs are the same, then it sounds like all 07/08 systems can display red menus. But I thought the base.TL could not do red menu's.

And its not the navi display that does it because the DVD player is what send RGB signals. Plus I know someone with an 05 and has an 05 display and his car.will display red menus.

This other person has an 07/08 DVD player. So, I'm wondering if the base TL's can do red, and if they can't then where is the difference?

Would need to check the radio menus, but it definitely shows red for the nav menus.

^ Yep. My Type-S has the same colour options. Can someone with a base chime in here and let us know if they have the same options? I know the TL-S has red dash lights instead of the Base's blue, but I didn't think that followed true onto the nav unit.

Yes, the base TL has the same color options. The nav system and disc are all the same. No difference between base and type s.
