Odometer reading

Hey guys,

My friend found a 2002 TLS with 20k on it that he wants to get.
His concern is if the odometer was rolled back. How can he find out?
Is there any other place on the car that can verify the actual mileage of the car?

To my knowledge you cant roll these back with out throwing a code. There is a computer that holds the mileage. Get teh VIN and run a car fax to see what it shows

Not that im aware of. its only kept in that. evry thing is done by wire in this car, and there is nothing Physical to roll back. Like i said you could take the vin and do a car fax to see what info comes up.

Y so worried about it? Is it from a shady place

Really... if you are that concerned about honesty from the dealer, then walk away.

But if it was a "late" '02, it can be possible some guy only drove it 7k a year. Could have been the Sunday car or something.

PLEASE do a carfax or a consumer report history report on it. It is so worth the subscription!

^^ Yup, do a carfax. I found out that my car was repo'd by the bank, and sat around for like 9 months b4 I bought it.... found that pretty interesting.
