keyless remote for 2000 RL problems

Hi everyone.

I have a 2000 RL and I have a new keyless remote bob. Its a factory key bob and I saw the directions for programing it on this site. Unfortunately the procedure didnt work. How can you tell if the system entered the programing mode? While doing the on/off button pressing, I noticed a green symbol of a key in the display system. Is this telling me anything? I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

Starting in 2002, Acura switched remote locking systems on the RL. My understanding is that the 2002+ remotes are not compatible with 1996-2001 RLs.

A picture of the new remote is shown below:

The correct remote for your RL is below:

Someone may be able to correct me if I am wrong, as I have not tried linking one of the "new" remotes.

RL remote programming problems

Thanks for the reply. At least according to the pic's I have the right remote control. So the procedure I followed is the 4 times key to position II with button pressing on the remote. I've tried it many times with no success. I did it easily in the time allotted. Any ideas?

Thanks again.
