^^^ Yes, I can't wait to see a C7 with this color, in person.

Actually, Orange was my first choice in color. I'm glad I've got what I've got though.

LOL, I started the vette talk, so I'll allow it. I'm sure that by the time I could make it happen, I wouldn't be in the right place in life to get one anyway. Who knows tho...

TL finally got some much needed attention yesterday. Wash/Clay/One-Step Sealant applied with the random orbital. Decided not to do the full polish since the paint didn't need it, and the sealant provides better daily driver protection.

Haha, I should somehow put a link to my specs in my signature. They are:

F: 19x8.5 +35 with 15mm spacer, 235/35/19
R: 19x9.5 +35 with 5 mm spacer, 245/35/19

Love those three too! I had put my phone away (yes, all just phone pictures), but then I noticed the A-Spec badge reflecting and I had to get one more.

All Griot's Garage stuff...I may have a bit of a problem...
DSC01926 by KJ TL-S, on Flickr

For this, I used the car wash and wash mitt (two bucket method always, with a grit guard in the rinse bucket), Clay bar with Speed Shine as the lubricant, and the One Step Sealant applied with the Random Orbital.

Thanks Austin. Yeah, every time I get it all cleaned up and look at the wheels, I couldn't imagine getting rid of them. The fact that the specs are perfect for my needs/wants, combined with them being discontinued and thus, irreplaceable for the most part, makes me think it would be extremely tough to part ways with them.

I found the Griot's paint sealant to be tough to remove once you let it haze...
maybe I put it on too thick.

I'm certainly a Griot's fanboy at this point. I know there's better stuff out there obviously, but for the price, I've never been unhappy with a single product. Then again, I pretty much only buy it when using an Advance Auto $50 off $100 coupon to make it all 50% off...

You know, I've not actually used the "Paint Sealant" product yet, only the Machine Polish 3, Best of Show Wax, and One-Step Sealant, which contains a very mild polish. When using the Griot's Random Orbital to apply the one-step, removing the remaining sealant was easy as could be using a polish-removing micro fiber cloth. I do remember the Best of Show wax being tough to remove though, although Speed Shine did seem to help.

If I recall, I think somewhere along the line I read it could help with stuck on wax removal, as in, after finishing the entire wax job, trying to get any remaining wax off.

Sounds like an awful experience...Besides a couple of necessary touchless automatic car washes in the bad winter months, mine hasn't seen anything but handwashes for the past 2 years, and its never looked better. Certainly a little more work/time to do it this way, but it's worth it.

Yeah, I'm going to start the 2 bucket method now.
Not only will it be cheaper, but will come out better.

Who is our detail product vendor?

Two Bucket Method FTW...its crazy how gross the rinse bucket gets. Hard to believe how much dirt and grit gets washed onto a car when just using one bucket.

And I didn't even know we had a product vendor. Like I said, Advance Auto carries Griot's now, at least a good deal of their products, and I just order every once in a while when they have a $50 off $100 or at least $50 off $125 coupon code.

Without question.

Two buckets and a grit guard, proper microfiber wash mitt, nice micro fiber drying towel, and a spray-on wax/finishing spray to ensure no water marks.

These things will forever change the way you wash a car.

Smooth as could be, and the sun is just blindingly reflective too!

I feel as though I may have been upstaged at the grocery store this morning though...
