hmm...where to start

i want to keep OEM functionallity. that said, i can't remove all the stuff that you guys do...but i want to remove ALL that i can.
Mount that sub in an infinite baffle arrangement and you lose most of the weight of the box and get your trunk back... unless you already have the corner loaded box. My pair of 15s including mounting hardware and MDF weigh 40lbs which is about 1/4 of what most dual 15" setups weigh.

With the stock sub removal you're in the 30lb range. I'm not going to pretend to be light, mine weighed 3,920 with me in it. But it beats being over 4,000lbs.

It does hit the mechanical limits with less power but this is a very good thing. Output is determined by cone size and excursion (displacement). If two subs have the same displacement but one requires 200w to hit full displacement while the other takes 1,000w, they will both have equal loudness, only one is much more efficient. This is infinite baffle. No air spring to restrict cone movement. The air spring of a sealed box does not store energy as the article says, it restricts cone movement in the lower frequencies, greatly reducing efficiency.

The car is coming together...well I guess its coming apart lol. Ever think about removing the rear door panels? I took mine out last week, didn't weigh them but they are worth taking out. The only problem I had is that is you can't roll down your rear windows unless you have the window switch hooked up... So i just have it hanging there for now.

Thanks bro....

from Inaccurates list they rear doo panel comes to 14 lbs and the fronts come to 18 lbs....

i was thinking of removing the rear panels but didnt want to loose the window functionality....

I think the rear of the car has NO WEIGHT now....barely any....all the weight is in the front half of the car....

Racing seats and battery will be next, that will drop me ~140 lbs from the front of the car.....damn i will be @ 400 lbs of weight LOST at that point....

hahaha.....i love that location dude LOL.....but yeah that is a temporary mod....pretty soon am gonna get Illinois tags (no personal property taxes and the inspection is SUPER easy....pull in, plug computer, drive out)....so yeah gonna get IL tags and wont need front plates then.....until then, they will stay in that location .....

Well Steve, it does....its almost like the car lost ~8-10% of her body weight....acceleration is quicker, she brakes better and it nimbler on her feet....

i can only imagine what Tim's car feels like....prolly like a little go-cart with a hayabusa engine in it....

PS: Thank you for the thread title change....

Gokart is the best one-word description for my car.

Lately, I am been getting my jollies by picking on people in the turns than racing. Especially after adding the BC Racing coilovers. Houston rush hour is like a crazy chaotic racing event filled with untrained drivers that are rude and impatience. So, I always have some one riding my ass. I get my jollies by hanging a turn or curve at gokart speeds and watch them become a little speck in my rear view mirror.

A few weeks ago, I had a car following me as I hanged one of favorite turns. This is a 90 degree left-hand turn at an intersection. He was right behind me in the same lane as me. As I got thru the turn, I looked in my mirror to see his status. His status was "sideways with his ass end sliding out WIDE". For me, I was taking the turn at about 75% of my potential. This was one of those days that I mentioned before where I will laugh all day long whenever I think about what happened. Even now typing this makes me laugh. A few minutes later, I saw that it was a Mustang GT (8 cyl) approx 2002-2004.

Anil, amazing pics...seriously. Great job, man and thanks for the creds! I love that your car has some mods that are totally different from anyone else on here.

Innac...about your story, same thing happened to me with a 6th Gen accord...was coming up on the flyover exit minding my business and taking it quickly...the accord was feeling froggy and was trying to show me up (behind me)...he nearly lost control...car went back and forth all nuts like...then he straightened out and slowed the heck down. When he passed me as I made my turn after the exit he looked pale and scared and wouldn't even look in my direction. I didn't feel badly because I wasn't even enticing him...

hahaha thats funny....i do that to some cars who like tailgating....i slow down at the exit's entry and then speeeeed up and take the turn at a high speed and see the car disappearing into the horizon....after the exit, i slow down again to let him pass me and give him a y look LOL....

on a different note, i remember raping an 98-02 V8 Mustang.....50-100mph i put like 3 car links on him

Yes i have thought about that but in a different way.....instead of covering out the trunk area, i thought why not just isolate everything behind the front seat....so i will leave some room for the seat to slide but then cover everything up....
