Melvin bro i respect that but firestone has messed up my car when trying to get it on and off a alignment rack which is not inground....

they actually refunded me my money back because they scrapped my side skirts....and told me, "this alignment is on us".....i promised i would never go back to a firestone....this was in ST Louis, MO.....

when i moved here to KC i saw almost all firestones had a inground rack and it was time to give them a shot again

it takes them 2 minutes to drive my car on and off the rack....no need for any wood at firestone....all wood is being used very well at home

Thanks guys

The guys at Springfield Firestone basically didn't want to do it. They said the car wouldn't get on the rack and they mentioned they didn't want to damage the wheels. Basically they were scared and lazy lol.

The search continues...

Well I put on my works last night and went to Firestone again to see if they'd be willing to do it since the works are 19" instead of the 18" BBS LM reps I had one. I was also hoping for a more balsy rep to be willing to try it.

Got there, the front desk guy said he would try to get it on walked outside and the tech said it wouldn't happen. Something about the ramps popping up after the front wheels go on and they would hit the side skirts. Also mentioned that he wouldn't be able to get it to factory specs blah blah blah

I saw that you're selling the LS's, huh?
Glad you're committing to the WORKS.
I can't believe nobody can give you an alignment nearby. That's ridiculous.
Oh, and congrats on the PCD's!

quanaman, i agree you wanna get an alignment really bad but it takes a blasy rep to scratch your rims/underbody....they wont be liable for the hit as they already told you they cant do it....

but it sounds like they were trying to put the car on a traditional lift that uses the side jackpoints, doesn't it? You sure they didn't think you wanted to get your fluids flushed...

For the PCD install...it'll be easier than you think. I made it this super hard thing, and it wasn't. Best thing is night before, get off your covers, lower covers, remove Jpipe and bottom bracket for the rear oem cat and passenger radiator fan and reservoir.

Then, next morning, BAM...knock it out. Took me a total of 6 hours the first time I did it. Next time when I removed to wrap with header wrap etc...took me 2.75 hours total.

Also, put a towel on the engine and just get comfy working there, point a fan at yourself and just relax.

I forgot to mention that Tires Plus is part of Firestone you might consider looking for one around your area. I know they have one in Stafford VA and they also did my alignment and is a ramp up system.

The best option is PTUNNING in Manassas VA. They specialized in lowered cars and is just around the corner from Dash Motor Sports.

The prices are little higher but they will definetly work on cars that are super low.

Oh, and congrats on the PCD's!
Haha I've had them listed in the BM for a while now with a few bites no but one's pulled the trigger yet. I really want to sell them without tires so I can keep the tires and get XXR 530s we talked about recently The works... Lets just say I'm less than happy with them. This sanding and polishing is tough going and I have very little motivation for finishing them. I've been debating on listing them in the BM and being done with it!!

Yeah of course but it just seems like these techs don't make a whole lot of money on alignments so they just don't want to do it unless the car is basically on a silver platter for them. It just seems to me they're being lazy and not wanting to put in the extra effort. This was the same Firestone location that Melvin said he had his done at. I guess I need a "hook up" somewhere.

No they had the alignment rack with ramps, but he was saying after the front wheels pass the ramps and actually get on the rack, the ramps pop up a bit and could hit the bottom of the car. Which I really don't want happening since I also have puddle lights and such.

As for the PCDs, I had them before but sold them to SICK TLS (Glenn). He said he installed them in less than 2 hours and when I saw/heard his car at the meet last weekend I got jealous and had to get my hands on another set... lo and behold, the black market came through for me again

Yeah I checked their prices and information online and its like 120$ for just a one time alignment. Thats kind of high for me as I just wanted to get it aligned/checked for now and then get a camber kit and go back if necessary. WIth 120$ for a one time alignment thats $240+ Firestone would have been nice at $179 for LIFETIME alignments.

In the end I was told Radley Acura has an alignment system that can accommodate lowered cars so I set up an appointment with a buddy who can do it on the side there for me on Saturday for a few bucks. He's done suspension work on my car and done alignments before and I'm sure whatever rack they have he will get it up there and do it right. I Will also be getting some tires mounted on my Aspecs so stay tuned as those will likely be the next wheels on the car in the near future.

Snapped some quick pics of the works with the new lowered stance. I like it but the rear is a bit sunken in.

Front offset is +38 and then a 15mm spacer so real offset is +23.
Rear offset is +24 no spacers

The front two wheels have the lips sanded down so they're not shiny. The rears are still polished, they haven't been sanded down yet for re-polishing.

Wheels look great man. Rear doesn't look sunken to me at all. Looks like you could go another 1/2" lower front and rear though.

haha I know I know, this was just a quick fit to see if I could get alignment done. The rears look ok in the pic and the sunken wheel isnt that bad, but I'm used to a little poke from the BBS wheels so maybe it will grow on me... I will be going lower most likely when I'm done with all this alignment crap!

I think Glenn just has ridiculous skills or is really lucky haha. He did a good job on my suspension I know that; we had the set in within 2.5 hours but had to take apart the front to fix a few things on the driver's side front wheel. My car, for me, is always a pain in the ass so hopefully the PCDs will be as easy as the suspension was

Have fun in A-City!!!

LOL...better choose your battles...you an always wipe that door panel off.
Great shots...

I actually have footwell lighting too...but I went a different route and only have 1 blue 360 deg led on a switch. My door courtesy light's circuit got fried on the multiplex unit so I put vinyl over them...

Those works should make you never put the other wheels back on. You CAN'T get bored of those!

Hahaha. You guys are too much

Had a decent day today. Met up again with Glenn to get the new PCDs installed. They're RV6 V3's that I got from a member here on the forum.

Surprisingly the install went pretty well. It took around 2.5 hours including everything. Luckily no set backs or hang ups so it was basically as good as it gets

First impressions: I'm pretty happy with them; I have some pretty decent rasp between 3-4k RPMs and still have some smell I think from the anti-seize so hopefully it will tone down soon enough. Luckily my sense of smell isn't that great. Not sure what I will do about the rasp; I'm not sure I'm okay with it. I've only put about 9 miles on the car since the install so we'll have to see in the coming days.

I'm going to get tires mounted on my aspecs and my alignment done hopefully Wednesday. I took a look at my tires today and noticed some camber wear from having them on for less than like 200 miles. I also had some bad slicing on my tires which means I need to get my front fenders rolled. Need to get that taken care of ASAP!!

I picked up a set of USR's fully clear rear tails last week along with new gaskets. I've been getting bored of the Type-S tails for a while now so I'm going to give these a try. I also went ahead and sprang for the OEM Carbon Kit from Acura since I spoke with the parts manager and he agreed to price match Acuraoemparts.com

Here are a few pics of the install today. Last one is Glenn's UA7 and my UA6, both with 6k switchback and HID fogs with yellow overlays. hes got 6k headlight bulbs too whereas mine are stock.
