No way man...on something like a wheel, with proper prep you can make it look good. You only need a gun to hit larger surface areas. I mean, it would look BETTER, obvi...but not necessary.
Although with all you're looking to do , you could probably find somewhere to do all you need in a package!

WOOO Page 5! haha.
Actually its really tough up here on Northern VA. Its hard to find any good, reputable shops that aren't going to rob you. Any custom work is super expensive in this area. I couldn't even find anywhere to do the bend repair for less than an arm and a leg so I traveled 3 hours south to VA Beach to get it done for much cheaper, including gas+a hotel room for the night!
For example; most people here on the forum say it cost them between 30-60 bucks for midmuffler delete. Best quote I got was $125...crazy!
Looks like I am going to be tackling this myself.

^Yeah, my Works need constant attention since the lips are polished and not chrome. I got one of those foam Mothers balls (w/ Mothers polish) that you attach to a drill, but it doesn't work as well as doing it by hand. Maybe I need some better polish...

I picked up The meguiars version because it has a cone shaped polishing tip. Haven't tried it yet but I know these wheels are beyond just a traditional polishing. They will need a bunch of wet sanding. I've watched some YouTube videos so I'll probably start with 300 grit and go up to 600 or so. These wheels are a PITA because the spokes come out into the lip, so there's crevices and nooks to get into.

I like your wheels, but those above are hot.

Those XXR's come in gold too, which IMO, looks pretty nice against DGP.

Gold +20. Go big or go home.

Well! I was thinking about 18x9.75
With that width, and +20 offset, I will basically be rubbing on all four corners, no?
Currently, my BBS LM reps are the closest to this fitment, with 18x9.5 offset 33 front, 28 rear and am clear of all fenders, but am not lowered that much. I have my rears rolled and have 235/40/18 tires all around.
with the Tein coilovers I plan on being maxed out or damn close to it...
BTW. stay tuned for slammed DGP pics tomorrow. Getting my suspension installed with the welcomed help of SICK TLS

Yeah, you'll be damn close to all 4 fenders if you're slammed with 9.75" and +20. I think you can pull it off with some aggressive camber and narrower tires though. You definitely wouldn't be able to run 235's. You'd need 225's at the most and maybe even 215's. Running 215's on a 9.75" wide rim would be really stretched though...not sure how to you feel about that...

Thanks for the info guys
The main reason I want to go with 235's is because I already have the tires. I don't want to have to buy new tires if I don't have to!!
I don't really care either way about stretching tires; I like the look but can live without it; doesn't matter. ALso I can roll the front fenders if need be; only about 80 bucks for the guy to come to my house and handle it. I guess I can judge it after tomorrow when I get my coilovers installed and see how bad/if I rub a lot with the BBS rims installed...
I'm thinking if I get them I might go with 18x9.75 +35 because I already have an assortment of spacers that I could throw on to get the exact look I want...I have 2 sets of 20mm and 2 sets of 15mm v2 spacers already
Decisions decisions.
This is all contingent upon me selling my BBS reps, one or both of my sets of aspecs, and my stockies. LOL.

I know I'll probably get flamed for this but I think it's a horrible idea, man.
Dave just had to get one of his replaced/rewelded and if you notice, almost ALL the people that have bought the XXR's end up selling them within 6 months. I'd highly recommend you don't shy away from getting those works looking how you want them to and just rock them.
I like the works, the aspecs AND the BBS reps better than those XXR's.

If you're dead set on the XXR's, another thing you should think about is how the offset affects the concavity of the wheels. IIRC, +20 will be much more concave than +35...I could be wrong though.

J: that's a actually a very good point. I know they're not the best quality but I didn't realize so many people were jumping off the xxr wagon. But at the same time, because these wheels are si cheap, everyone and their mother has them or is getting them. Which makes it less fun..
Ebelp: Yeah I know the rims are more concave with a lower offset but they're sayin the design of the wheel is very concave to begin with; but IMO the more concave the better

Update's look Great! Always love a Nice/Clean DGP(Rare)! Very well modded! Is it just me or is the rear aspec lip just a tad low? I don't have the aspec kit, but I thought it was supposed to be just above that rear lip(on the bumper)?
