JMkiang the gains on a 5AT TL will be slightly more than the 5AT AV6. Altogether, with the PC deletes, exhaust, test pipe, and 1 of the 3 Jpipes, I'd venture to say 25whp is possible.

They should've put the 3.2 in the 7th gens!!

steve, u really felt a loss of low end tq with the Rv6 j pipe? What were u smoking?? Haha dude there's no way in the world u loss low end from an aftermarket j pipe that MANY ppl have and have only reported good things. The only gripe ppl seem to have with the Rv6 j pipe is the merge section, which is now improved on the v2... To what extent, I'm not sure. Ground clearance on this newer version is phenomenal. Pics should be up soon.

What's the difference in getting the test pipes vs. the racing pipes? Also the Legality?

same thing. Test pipe is resonated, Race pipe isn't (louder). Both replace 3rd cat so equal on legality, or lack their of.

How does the Race pipe sound though? Is it a rumble or does it sound ricey?

this thread helps but, the TL exhaust mods are almost rubiks cube like

I believe you can go Stage 3 (read the thread) WITH the stock cat backs and not get ricey/drone. Add an aftermarket exhaust, and you have to throw on a resonator.

i installed pre-cats/j-pipe/test pipe with stock exhaust the rest of way. It has a deeper growl on the top end and when it's cold but not very noticeable when driving moderately.

I just plan on installing a j-pipe and Test/race pipe for now. Maybe a new exhaust down the road but not anytime soon. If the race pipe will make my exhuast note sound ricey, I'll just go with the test pipe.

Lets put an end to these questions...

YOUR EXHAUST WILL NOT SOUND RICEY WITH EITHER THE TEST PIPE OR THE RACE PIPE!

Its a small portion of your exhaust... it changes the tone by not dramatically.

Too many people have asked and answered this question... even in this very thread!

Thank you.

Dynos will come soon, we just test fitted on a 05 TL base auto. The tuck is even better on this new jpipe, it sits well above the frame.

I know this is a long shot, but would I be able to exchange the V1 pre-cat deletes/J-pipe/race pipe for the V2? If I had not already installed the V1 onto my car yet?

Post it in the black market and see that happens. Thats a good setup with the pre-cat deletes, someone should buy it.

Richie, if there are good dyno results then Im so fucking in on this.....and test pipe.

That test fit looks great. Is the fit any different on the 6MT? I cant imagine why it would be.

Good news I plan to dyno with a 6 speed base TL sometimes next week. Fitment should be the same all on models.
