I was going to post in here that I think I am. There's a few guys from my MOPAR club that are supposed to go, too. I think around 5:30 or so. You going?

Oh yeah. It's pretty much around the corner from where I live. Behind the Regal cinema in the streets right? I'll probably bring the CL too. FX is pretty much yellow right now from all the pollen.

Gotta start em early! That's how my dad was. Always taking my brothers and I to car shows and museums. Might bring the FX as well, if I can con my roommate into driving it, that is.

No biggie. I didn't get there until about 7. Grabbed dinner before. It was a great turnout though!

So I'm starting to sway toward this option instead of the aftermarket hoods...

That's what I'm thinking dude. Although it costs even more than the Trucarbon hood. Not cheap by any means.

Its definitely more unique on a charger.

It was popular enough for the Challenger...they FINALLY made them a factory edition.

I was trying to talk my buddy into doing the shaker, he wasn't having it. I didn't know it was more $ to do that than the trufiber hood. Do you get a new hood, or do you "hack" up your stock hood?

That's a great point. It does have a factory appearance to it simply because they offer it now.

Yeah I didn't know either until I started digging into it more. It'd be a minimum of $1500 for what I'd need. And yes, you use a jigsaw to cut a hole in the stock aluminum hood. The benefit would be I wouldn't have to store my stock hood anywhere but of course the downside is if I f*ck it up I'm out of luck lol. Well and once it's on that's it, no going back to the stock hood.

In a strange twist of fate there's a guy on LXForums that is selling a gift certificate he won for any trucarbon hood. So I could get the carbon fiber A9 hood shipped to my door for under a grand. Now I'm really stumped on what to do.

Honestly, IMO the Trucarbon looks much cleaner than that shaker hood you posted above. That shaker hood almost looks like an afterthought and is just plopped on.

Would I be shouted down, hated, and maligned if I say I'm not a fan of either hood?

Same here... but I think it's because that Viper hood got me so hard that I became desensitized and now nothing else will be the same.

The shaker hood is really nice too.

Interesting feedback guys. Just so happens I'm 99% sure I'm 86ing both the shaker and A50 hood ideas. Something else is a brew'n in my head.

Going with the no-hood look to complement your new mullet-wearing redneck lifestyle?

As long as you complete the look with a pair of Daisy-Dukes, then you've got a winner.

One year of ownership is in the books! It's been an overwhelmingly great experience so far owning "Sapphire". I've always been skeptical about how reliable a Chrysler product could be, but (knock on wood) besides regular maintenance and a few small DIY fixes I haven't had to take her to the dealership at all. She's been bullet proof and has provided me with tons of smiles. I still giggle when I stomp on the gas and feel the V8 do what it does best. She's got the most comfortable seats and suspension of any of my other past cars. I hope to keep her for a very long time. One of my fondest memories was when a lady at the local car cruise asked my 2 year old son what kind of car daddy drove and he said "A Charger" without blinking an eye.

The day I drove her home from the dealership...

And how she looks now...

In the past year I drove 9,163 miles and averaged 18.1mpg. Not too shabby considering she's a 4,000+ lb whale with a 370+ horsepower HEMI. My best overall tank of gas was 23.4mpg and my worst was 15.0mpg. You can check out all the stats by clicking on the banner below.

<a href="http://www.fuelly.com/driver/SuperT/charger" target="_blank"><img src="http://badges.fuelly.com/images/sig-us/252340.png" width="500" height="63" alt="Fuelly" title="Share and compare MPG at Fuelly" border="0"/></a>

Over the year I added the following mods...

• DiabloSport Predator Tuner
• aFe Stage II Cold Air Intake
• Flowmaster Force II Catback Exhaust
• JBA Hi-Flow Mid-Pipes
• JET 180° Thermostat
• Billet Technologies Oil Catch Can
• TranZformer Electronic Shift Kit
• Petty's Garage Strut Tower Brace
• Hurst Comp Stick
• MOPAR Bright Pedal Kit
• Centric Posi-Quiet Brake Pads
• MOPAR OEM Rear Bumper Diffuser
• Pro Motor Stripes 3M Vinyl Graphics
• MOPAR Hood Struts

1/8th mile and 1/4 mile tracks stats...

1/8th mile
9.086 @ 81.09 mph

1/4 mile
13.912 @ 103.02 mph

Thanks man! I hear ya but at least you still have RWD. I just recently decided to chill with the mods for a bit, but next on the list will be some kind of drop.

I've finally made some progress on a set of half covers I bought in January and figured I'd share some photos of the progress. I finally made a decision on color and graphics and started cutting out the design using blue painters tape. After I got them all taped up I realized the blue tape wasn't tacky enough and it started peeling up almost immediately. I decided to try again using a tackier orange tape and this time it worked great. I still need to clear them but I'm pretty happy with the results so far.

Test fitting the bare sheet metal covers.

Based the covers with a hi-temp metallic black and cut the design out of blue painters tape which wasn't tacky enough.
