CL-S guy here just trolling around considering im doing a turbo build myself this year

Goodluck with the build my buddy has a ZDX and it's a pretty unique looking vehicle.

Whatever you do finish the build and complete updating this Build post. There's nothing more i hate is when people start educational threads only to abandon them right at the end

Keep the pictures coming
I'll be watching

Turbo's are pretty small, you sure going to get 500 hp as the target?

as if you felt there were news

today we discovered that J35 block doesn't competely fit the rest of J37 motor. techs called it "forehead part" that doesn't fit

So we are forced to mess with J37 head. The plan is to bore 1.4mm of walls and put fat custom sleeves so we can use our forged pistons for J35 and still have fat sleeves. J37 work is already in progress

Well that sucks. :/

Is there a known cause to why the 3.7L burns oil? Seems like that one fault is spinning this project in circles.

Wow! So that's a J35a8? custom bored and sleved? I wish I could do something like this. What's the issue you are having? If your using a j35a8 everything from a j37a1/4/etc should fit to my knowledge.

No, in the end its J37 bored and sleeved to J35 dimensions, however its still J37 and head and some other parts from J35 doesn't fit.

The reason of my current delay was that Carillo rods my tuners had ordered turned out to be too long (3mm) so they had to order the correct set. Rods were shipped last friday and we expect them in Moscow at the end of this week.

haha I thought everyone deciced that the project is dead by now
well its not. but its definitely cursed in a way

this time after putting forged internals they found out that stock crankshaft doesn't quite fit them (too much space between parts), after a while they found a J35 crankshaft that fits better, but after balancing the crankshaft they bent some wheel that works as a crankshaft sensor and now trying to repair it or make a new one

bah!

Guess that's the trouble when you're doing R&D.

Any more pictures?

Current status: new crankshaft pulser has arrived. I told the shop that they either finish the car in October or I take it away as it is to another shop but they assure me that everything will be OK this time
