Announcing my twin-turbo ZDX project

Are you in Europe? Because you would have just said RL if you were in North America. Just curious. Which year is it? 0-60 times? Did the modification effect your mileage? I didn't get the "Stock" part in your Stock J35A8 Honda Legend KB1 description. I am not technical at all that's why I am asking. If it's modified, how is it stock?

I've just got my car after tuning.
It's not my theme. I will say about my car in my theme when I create it.

Be my guest What was your ECU solution? Same Unichip I suppose? How is it working out? Any dashboard errors?

Not so easy and clear with unichip. Dima tried to use one unichip, then tried two unichip, then he reprogramm stock ECU and leave one unichip. And, as he said, no any errors was appeared. But when I got my car it was many errors. Maybe some connectors disconnected.
P.S. please don't tell about this on any other forums.

But don't expect to say you boosted a 2g RL (first ever as far as I'm aware) and then not tell anyone your tuning solution. Lol.
If you had multiple "errors" I'd feel safe to assume this guy either installed a 07-08 TL-S ECM in your car (which would be my first guess since the two ECM's, engines and harness are near identical) or piggy backed your current RL ECM which would be a very unwise decision on his part. Nevertheless, please discuss further and in greater detail. Us Aziners here are sworn to secrecy.
PS My apologies to the OP of the thread but this is a news breaking event. WHERE'S JUSTINSPACE?

You should really PM me so we can discuss this but I can help with your problems. I have extensive experience with the j35a8 and will gladly assist in any way that I can.

Wow, talk about a supreme brain fart on my behalf. Guess I got too excited about the whole subject and responded to the wrong person.
Now that I'm talking to the right person here....

But I'm very interesting in what you can advise us to manage afr, ignition, boost, additional fuel rail ?
PS: of course we leave working the SHAWD and another system because RL, ZDX are the city cars.

just FYI me and MyKL are using the same tech guy for ECU solution and its tuning
so I am really happy with his success with RL and I'm sure he will do J37 just as good as he did J35
meanwhile i'm on vacations in India

I'm back from vacations, according to what tuners promised me they are installing forged internals now. I'll check them one of these days and hopefully make some pics

shame on me too many things to do after vacations so I fail to reach the shop before they close
over phone they assured me that they dismantled the engine and sent it to bore (wtf?) and then put forgies. i hope its not a lie

Finally I got to visit the shop so here are some pics
First, rear brakes upgrade finished. 4-piston Brembos and 350mm rotors (sorry for dirty pics :p )
And now something more terrifying
Someone stole the motor
Actually now we are deciding what to do with the motor. Here is how it looks
We are worried that the cylinders are coated with nikasil (which is not good for forced induction) and the cylinder walls are too thin to bore them for installation of custom sleeves. There was an idea of using an older 3.5l head which is much more solid and durable (and compatible), but in this case my 3.7l forged pistons were a waste.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Masters certainly know better , but the walls doesn't look forward strong thin.
And about the sputtering:
Why do they think that it is not acceptable for forged pistons? I do not understand the problem , the rings instead of the pistons contact with the walls?
In any case , once the engine is disassembled , then canned it is not a problem and not very costly . For example Darton and others.
This is exactly what I have asked from the beginning ( whether canned Gosh capacity )
Canned block and forged internals is just what you need) )))
you can blow in capacity more than 1.5 bar permitting exhaust manifold .
At least it will be much more reliable power for 500 +

Sorry about the set back Sandro.
I would look into boring and stroking a 3.5L to a 3.7L and going from there or picking up a RLX/ MDX J35 with DI and then bore and stroke it out to a 3.7L + the turbos.
I've already found wrecked MDX's and RLX's that you can get engines from and shipping to you.
I have a hard time believing that you're not made of money so I suppose you have a limit.
Just things to look into.
Again so sorry for the set back. I was looking forward to this so much.

Seems like we are going with the 3.5L block. Ordered new forged pistons, so its another 3 weeks of waiting. Rods are supposed to fit fine.
I suppose there was a reason why Honda discontinued the 3.7L motor and switched back to 3.5L (Earthdreams)

as far as it looks, j37 is actually good old j35, just bored and without sleeves
its really the same block
so if you bore j35 you get sleeveless j37
further boring j37 in order to put sleeves is too risky cus the walls are thin, thats why we are switching to j35 block

That makes sense. Didn't realize it was the same block. How is the project coming? BTW, do you have a third car or are you driving wifey's Z?

But I do have my old 2006 Lexus IS250 AWD which a great car really
We are waiting for new pistons (ETA mid-March), and hopefully the shop guys meanwhile will do something useful like battery relocation and preparing the 3.5 block
