[Video] How to replace the door lock actuator on a 2005 Acura TSX

My buddy and I put this How To video together over the weekend showing how to change the driver's side door lock actuator on a 2005 Acura TSX. Hope it helps some other folks out!

Note - this video also shows why you should NOT use an impact driver to remove those pesky screws from the end of the door.

The full blog post is available at HandsOn Blog.

Questions or comments are welcome.

If you have any other how-to videos that need to be done, let me know and I'll see what we can do!

Thanks,

Dan

I heard the door actuators for the first gen tsx are prone to failing. are any of you guys experiencing that?

Yea, you can get a new remote and program it yourself. Here's a link to one on Amazon.

Here's another thread with directions: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/keyfob-question-563383/

I'm guessing that $30 is just for the actuator itself. I got the actuator used in the video for $17.85 on Amazon.

Just as I finished working on replacing the actuator I found that I forgot a screw . It is the one that attaches the actuator itself to the other white plastic housing.

Anyone knows how tight is that housing, I know it has 2 clips in it (and the screw), but I am not ready to disassemble the door, clips, metal rods and the rest again...

Do you guys think that screw is critical?
