BC Suspension- RDX Coilovers

Damm 15 Minute limit on editing your post...
This what i wanted to edit my last post to actually say.
Here is a pic from the rear looking towards the front... Camber looks ok however i haven't finished the finial ride height or had it aligned yet to check the specs. I think i also need to try a 255/45 R 18 to take a bit of the sidewall bulge out, try to keep the tread width of 9.3 and drop the tire diameter to 27".... Tires may be to small then... ??

Here are two pics of "The Rear Camber Eccentric Bolt"??
I had to order two new rims from another co because Next Level Motoring (NLM) has TERRIBLE after the sale customer service... It took two weeks for them to issue me an RMA for two bent rims.
I have an appt Friday for the alignment; I will post the specs when i get them.

WTF?
took my rdx in for another alignment today due to a slight curb hit.. (wet weather got the best of me) and was told those bolts arent for camber.. i think he said it was for toe.. but i know for a fact its not camber
#286
Yea those eccentric bolts are for toe... Dammit... I ended up with -1.5 deg camber on the rear... Just with-in max specs... The alignment machine was fluctuating from green to red on the rear camber.
I have the rear set to max ride height and i am an 1/8 difference on ride height on the rear.
I finally got to drive it "Spirited" today on I 25 through Denver and enjoyed the shit out of it... Very responsive and handles great... It doesn't feel like a SUV at all... taking off camber corners at 80 mph was smooth and i didn't feel any roll in the body. The tires would rub occasional if i hit a bump/depression in the road while cornering however i still felt in control of the vehicle... didnt get squirrely or felt i had to back off the throttle to maintain control... Impressive... Now i need to play with the damping settings.

Yea.... I was thinking about that the other day...
I was kind of feeling the flex in the sidewalls just over the last few days i have to admit that the vehicle would handle a bit better with a 45 series tire on a 19" rim however this BC Suspension and shocks feels really tight right now (shocks bumping softly... its also 27 deg today) and i am kind of liking the flex in the sidewall that the big 255/55 18s give me to cushion things :-) i need to lower the shock settings and see how she feels.... And read some more :-)

Wondering if anyone knows... I supposedly ended up buying an early manufactured set. It was the famous set that was lost in the mail. I ended up buying them off a guy on ebay that bought them from the clearing house.
Everything is there and they are for sure for the RDX but seeing that others that have them are able to raise them to above stock height and that I have had some alignment problems I am wondering if maybe there were two runs or something.
Mine at the highest setting (or within 1/2" of it) barely leave me any wheel gap. I have 19" wheels w/ 245/45 tires. Im thinking if what everyone is saying that I should be able to adjust another 2-3 inches up?
Also both times that I have tried to align the front end I havent been able to. Just wondering if anyone else (especially some of the early production guys) are having any of the same problems?
Thanks

i am going in for my second alignment on Monday: i made a 2nd adjustment tweek and my suspension today... It feels like the CUV is being pulled to the right ever so slightly.

Mr. Blue, as you found out the eccentric bolts are for toe adjustment.
I caught up with SPC Performance at SEMA this year and asked them if they could make an adjustable rear upper suspension piece to allow chamber adjustment. They said they will look into it.
I hope we get this issue figured out once and for all. I went through as set of rear tires in about 10K miles.

Interesting CarbonFiber.... So Ur using the stock shocks then? I am not liking these shocks on this setup... They are really stiff and bottom out for about the first 15 minutes of driving even with the settings at 4 cliks from softest however it is 30-55 deg here in Denver. I have tried to contact BC Sports however no one answers the phone or returns emails... I will try again on Monday and also ask why the rear adjusters are so short; i had to put the rear stock rubber mounts back in (modified of course to fit the adjuster) and add an additional 3/8" shim on the right rear just to get the vehicle to 30" ride height at all four corners and give me 1" of tire clearance in the rear.
10K... Wow thats not good Rotary Rocket... Did u run any extra air in your rears?
That is great to hear the SPC is working on a camber kit for this application; I have their front camber eccentric bolts on and as u can see from my specs they work great.
Keep us posted on the rear and thanks again. How has ur setup been since U finish tweaking it?

WTF?
to add to it.. if you are on the softer settings its going to bottom out easier.. i have Ksport coilovers on my tsx and i had that prob till i put it on a stiffer setting
the thing with coilovers is that they really arent made for the bumps and dips a road has they are made for tracks..

Our setup specs are similar and i am going to increase the shock hardness today knowing what U said is true. Do ur KYBs bottom out at all?
I was hoping to find a comfortable medium in the softest area to compensate for the stiffness and cold bumping; i am wondering if these shocks were engineered for the additional weight of this vehicle. I have multiple lowered vehicles and haven't had shocks ride this stiff or bump; my lude tricycles on speed bumps however the shocks dont bump this hard.

WTF?
nope never bottomed on the kyb.. but i also dont do off roading hahaha.. the ride is comfortable yet stiff for the corner bumps i do wish we had thicker rear sway bars though the lateral of the vehicle is horrible..
i know k sport says the street dampening should be in the 30s for stiffness i have my tsx at 28 up front and 26 in the rear cause i have a thicker sway bar in the rear to make up some of the cornering stiffness.. they are also 36way not sure if bc are that high..

That is great to hear and I agree that a thicker sway bar would benefit the handling. I had my shocks set to 16 today and drove about 60 miles today and she handled much better however think i will have to increase the stiffness like ur setup on the TSX.... The shocks didn't bump and i was crusin up Squaw Pass today and she was loving the accelerated cornering and the way the SH-AWD pulls U up and thru the corners... I like the paddle shifters on this as well... they act like an actual clutch... Damm good job by Acura... I am Loving the drive of this CUV.... Engine Work Next
ohhh... the BCs have a max of 30 settings... I will try 22 tomorrow...

I forgot to ask everyone if they ever felt a point while turning (40-60mph) thru a corner and the rack n pinion in the steering momentary over-steers? I have felt this several times now and it as if the Caster on the front struts momentary change??? Steering assist? Hydraulic pressure issue? Any Ideas?? Would a stiffer sway bar correct or minimize that feeling?
Today the suspension was feeling better, its allowing the flex necessary for a comfortable yet sporty drive.

The RDX is equipped with SH-AWD. The rear is over-driven on the outside wheel which pushes the rear end out on a hard corner, thus giving just a slight amount of over-steer.
#303
I was thinking the SH may have something to do with it and Thanks Mr. Marco for your informative reply ... I was also thinking the sway bar could be a factor as well as using a stiffer sway bar may help minimize that over-steer by not allowing the suspension to flex to much and the SH sensors/system trying to compensate for that ... Thoughts???
I increased the shock settings to 22 and it did help stiffen up the compression and rebound of the suspension when corning and dips in the road...
My son said it felt like the front was still too soft and the rear too hard so i bumped the front up to 24 and backed the rear to 20 today... It has been tough adjusting this especially since its so damm cold here...

It fricken still cold here and it snowed last night... I have an update on this BC Suspension as i couldn't get the Bump completely out of the suspension due to the fact its not he shocks bottoming out ( i also removed the bumpstops) however the springs are almost completely compressed together at normal loaded ride height. See first pic, second is with no load on the springs.
After seeing this i realized why the suspension is bottoming out; its due to the springs fully compressing together when i hit a bump in the road.
I have sent BC Sports several emails and called then numerous times however no one replies or answers the phone during their "Business Hours". I am surprised that a known respected co such as BC didn't catch or see this improper spring rate while they were engineering this setup.
Has anyone else had this issue? If your not then can you please send me the # on your springs? Mine is 62.200.0C6
Thanks

After several emails with BC Tech support they are sending me another set of front springs ($80) with a spring rate of 450 lbs ea to replace the original set rated at 375 lbs ea. Hopefully i can install them next week and it solves the bottoming out issue.
I am going to check into the Eibach springs as BC doesn't have a taller & higher rate set for the rear...

It seems this thread is dying... I guess i will note how the new springs feel...
The 125lb additional spring rate (62 200 008 have a spring rate of 450lbs) is much better in that it doesn't bottom out like it use to however it will like any other spring if its compressed to much.
I increased the hardness of the shocks to lessen the bouncing/floating of the new springs; the ride is much smoother and i am not as scared to bit bumps in the road now. It still handles great however can feel a bit of difference (softer) in responsiveness using the higher rate springs.
The rear tires do rub on the fender liners ever so slightly when i accelerate through or take fast corners; I like the way this CUV handles (almost sports car). I hope U all enjoy ur RDX as well. I am...

I am regretfully selling my RDX. Taking all the mods off before selling.
Let me know if you want to buy my BC coilovers. Less than 10K miles on them.
Thanks.

Mods, please let me know if you are ok with me putting up my parts on this post (I'm the OP).
Our community is small and we get lost in the for sale section.
Suspension goes to hypnotini and intake to kuni808. Thanks Gents.
I also have an alum pulley, if anyone is interested I will pull it off the car.

I am about to pick up an 07 RDX tech pack. trading my 06 6mt g35 for it.. on vossens.. looking to slam this RDX. Still selling coils? also what are good wheel specs for aggressive or flush?
