Wow this car is awesome and now with the IS-F its really going to heat up the market I think.

Although if I had the money I would take the 335 and save the money.

True. I suspect the dealers will highly mark them when they arrive as well. Who know maybe in mid 09...

Until the car arrives and you sign all the final paper work, it isn't too late. Especially if you are changing to a more expensive car, they will give you your deposit back on the xi. UNLESS you got the superman color combo LOL.

It's too late for me because I promised my wife it was our final decision. We had a hard time agreeing on the colours and options themselves. The X drive system was the deciding factor as well. The last thing I want to do is tell her I'm eyeing something better. And no, it's not a white/red:devil: it's white on beige which is hot in it's own way.

You'll love the 335 so no big deal. I'm actually going the other direction in terms of looking at less expensive vehicles (getting cheap in my old age and my GF is high maintenance ). The 135i sounds like a really engaging car to drive...maybe even more so than the m3. It's around 400 lbs less..add Procede, an LSD and some suspension... can't wait to try one out.

fixed.

you probably looked at the european weight rating for the M3 - the one that is 3704 or something. The actual CURB weight is 3590. Still kind of a porker, but not 3700 lbs.. the 135i is 3420. link

actually that's not correct ( re: 135i weight). those reviewers didn't weight the car, they went by published specs. bmw had incorrect specs on their site a while ago and thats what led everyone to believe that. this has been hashed out ad-nauseum at e90post, maybe i 'll see if i can dig up the thread.

Verts are so much more expensive when you buy them and you don't get shit back when you sell them. I was looking at e46 m3's a while back and convertibles were priced about the same as compareable coupes.

my M3 drive review. I didn't drive the above pictured coupe. I drove a sedan.

The interiors aren't real flashy. The steering wheel and seats are to die for. The sedan had all black interior with carbon fiber looking leather trim. I had never seen leather like that before. The sound system was nice, and the engine sound is beautiful, although a little more subdued than I would like.

The clutch is freakishly light. It feels like it's not even attached to a cable, more like it's an e-clutch or something. The gearbox was nice. I would need more time to really get a feel for the clutch and gearbox, they feel less direct than the same in my subie.

It's weird driving a car like this with such a long powerband. It wasn't as fast as I was expecting, although I didn't flog it too hard since it only had 110 miles on it. Midrange power definitely felt like less than my subie, although the power delivery is so smooth that I think the M3 may be sneaky fast. I also figure once the M3 was broken in and you could bring it all the way up to (and past ) 8000 rpms it would really start to shine. overall it wasn't as quick as I was expecting, especially down low and in the mid range where my subie shines. The 335xi auto sedan actually felt like it had as much power and TQ down low and in the mid range.

The handling was great. very glued to the road and I could tell the brakes are incredible, even though I didn't have a chance to really try them out. Steering is pretty light, a little too light for my taste, but I'm sure it's something that you would get used to.

Build quality, interior quality and paint quality were all superb to me (Subaru driver), although it would be nice to have a suede or alcantara headliner in a 70K automobile.

Overall, I think it would be tough to take the M3 over other comparable cars that I'm guessing are brutally quick and fast, aka Corvette & GT-R. The M3 just didn't push me back in the seat like I though it would.

Facelift E90

Previously, we've brought you photos of BMW's facelifted 3-Series wagon, but today our spies delivered some up close and personal images of the 3-Series sedan. Judging by these photos, it looks like the sedan might see a pretty major revision to its taillight design.

On close inspection, it appears the taillights will get a "notched" appearance that effectively deletes one quarter of the previous design. As is easily seen, the front fascia will be slightly re-designed with a new bumper, modified fog lights, a new and sculpted hood, and new grille. The unpopular chrome "eyebrows" above the grille are now gone.

The update will also bring the launch of the twin-turbocharged 335i Wagon. Although the wagon is the only body style BMW doesn't offer the M3 package on, it appears as though those craving cargo room and performance won't have to wait much longer.
