I'm thinking of upgrading to an Optima battery. So I have a few questions for those who have installed one under the hood with a CT S/C kit.

1) Is the Optima Yellow D51R the right one for the CT S/C installation?
2) Will the Optima battery terminals work with the OEM battery cable ends?
3) Will the battery tie-down that CT supplied with the S/C kit work with the Optima battery?
4) Is this a straight bolt-in or do I need any special hardware?

And the difference between the 51R and 51RD is nothing more then the position of the (+) & (-) terminals on the battery.

Thanks Chaptorial!!! And yes I do have the new battery tray supplied by CT. The only thing I'm a bit concerned about is the install. It looks like I would have to pull the whole blower assembly out in order to install the new battery. Or might I be able to remove the airbox to make room for the battery replacement?

That’s a good idea and yes it would be easier then removing the blower. However that being said remember the battery is sitting is a tray. On its base its being flanked on all four sides by metal, keeping it in place.

Even if the air box was to be removed i don't think there would be enough room to get it up and over the sides of the tray and into place. You kinda need to take it straight up and place it straight down when installing it.

I'll run outside and take a look. Just to be sure cuz I’m not 100% certain.

OK after closely looking at it again I’d have to say it be damn near impossible to slide a battery out, let alone get one in. The battery sits deep enough where it would have to be lifted up (much more then the small amount of room that exists now) a considerable amount so it can clear the "shelf" that exists on its right side.

The 6-speed setup does differ a bit considering the lack of all the VSA systems. I'd take a look at yours and see what some of the other 6-speed guys think. Removing the air-box would defiantly be less time consuming then removing the blower, like you said.
