Battery Drain/2nd battery.. Opinions?

I have a 3000w D-Class amp running to my battery and also some neons on the inside, and underbody's (ricer.. yes i know =p).

But i'm still using the stock battery and today it just completelly drained on me..

I'm figuring to get a Optima Yellowtop battery for the car, but also I was thinking about taking out that battery and charging it, but also keeping it and mounting all my lights to it and just running my system off my car battery and my car of course..

But I'm not too sure of how to run a 2nd battery from lets say the trunk or so.. anyone ever done it before, or know where I could find out how to?

Or any other opinions?

Go to the forums at SoundDomain.com and read about batteries. You have to be careful on what type of battery you put in the trunk, because same are known to let off fumes.

The second battery is only going to have no effect on the system while the car is running. If you want to add the second battery you'll need a battery isolator, the rest is pretty self-explanatory.

caps are worthless...upgrade ur wiring from the alt and batt to ground...it helps a lil...get a higer output alt. and a second batt for playing time only...get a yellow top and put it in the trunk...its made to be charged and discharged only not for starting a car...thats what the red top is for...

You probably need a higher amperage alternator. Like Kyle said....a second battery would be good if you show the system with the car not running. Caps are not worthless....they keep a constant voltage to the amplifier its in line with.
