Weird Start Sequence...Tell Me What Happened
So this morning I go to start my TL, insert key, turn and nothing. Thought, ok, i need a jump as I was installing my amplifier yesterday and must have drained my battery. Get my neighbor, hook up the cables, turn the key and again, nothing. Hmmmmmmmm.......i had power because all my lights were on and all my instruments/radio was on as well, just not turning over. So now i'm puzzled. I decided to just leave everything on, the accessory position, and see if that helps. About 5-10 seconds later, my steady engine light that was on, blinks a few times and goes out. I turn the key and presto, the TL starts!!!
Can someone tell me what happened and why? I like to understand why things like this happen so I can better understand my car.
Thanks!!!

was your neighbors car running when you tried to start yours?

What gauge wire is in your cables? If it's a cheap set from Home Depot or something, it won't be able to carry enough current to start the car until the battery's been charged up a little bit.

Opps, I forgot to mention that after I tried a jump with my neighbor, I disconnected the jumper cables from his car. Then put the key in the accessory position, waited and then it started just fine.
Jumper cables wern't even connected when it eventually turned over.

I dont think it was that either. It started up just fine this morning and the rest of the day yesterday. I think it has something to do with the ECU? or something. For some reason it just needed power to be continuosly on for 5-10 seconds, then started right up like nothing was wrong.
Anyone else have any idea? Any Acura mechanics around???

Could also just be bad/loose/corroded battery connections. It happened to me. Loosen, remove and clean the connections and then re-tighten. You'll need your radio/nav codes after this.
