Morimoto XB LED Fogs (Type S)

Hey guys I just received the newest Morimoto XB LED Fogs (Type S) for my 2012 TL SH-AWD. Got them from http://www.theretrofitsource.com/led...ts-type-s.html
Here are my findings. The package came double boxed and very well packaged. The fogs were packed in bouble wrap individually inside the second box. There are also included in the package two plastic h11 connectors and 8 bolts to secure the fogs. The feel and look of the morimoto xb led fogs is well above my expectation. Got them for $175 plus 15% off discount. They come with a 5 year warranty. Here are some pictures of the newest fogs. I will be installing them by the end of the week on my 2012 tl. I will post more pictures befor and after later on.

Hey guys I would like to apply clear protection film on the fogs before installation. Which brand protection film would you guys recomend on fogs, head lamp and possibly turn signal housings. I was thinking getting lamin-x or XPEL in clear. I know that you can get 20mil or 40mil for the fogs and 8mil or 12mil for the headlamps in lamin-x but I am not sure about xpel. Any suggestion guys?

Hey guys I decided to go with suntek ppf on both headlight, turn signals and new morimoto xb led fogs. I am paying $70can for all installed. All will be done late this week. I will post pictures when all is done. I already have suntek ppf applied on front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, rear top fender.

Do you mean DRL or low beam HID? Low beam HID are upgrated to Osram CBI 5500K. The DRL/High Beam are upgrated already to LED.

Hey guys today I just completed installation of the Morimoto XB LED Fogs (Type S) on my 2012 TL SH-AWD. Installation is straight forword remove old fog housing and install new ones in the place of the old ones. It is plug and play. It took me 1/2 hr per side then wait until dusk then align the fogs from the bottom throu the openings with a flat or philips screw driver so that they are at the same level as you can see from the picture. I aligned the fogs on my garage door. My are aligned up high just below the low beam spectrum. They can be adjusted to any level very easy in no time trou the lower openings. They have very nice cut off no scatter, they have good color and I can see at night a lot furter with them being on. Here are some pictures. Enjoy.................

Thanks!! Original price was 175.00usd. I got it for $164.29 that included 15% discount for acurazine member and $15.54 shipping to Canada. If you are in us then $15.54 less for the set. I am not sure how much acura dealer would charge for set of the oem fogs.

Great deal and they look extremely bright. It's worth it for the cut off alone.

One more stupid question

How exactly did you apply 15% discount as being AZ member?

Nice pics! The CBI's that you have, are those with the stock housing or did you make any adjustments?

I have 5000K H11 bulbs in my fogs, so I'm happy with this. Thinking of going to CBIs for my stock projectors. Interested in the distance and cutoff.

The Osram CBI 5500K are on the stock housing no adjustments. Just make sure you get the original Osram CBI and not the cheap fake ones from feabay.

You are 100% correct they will only fit 2012 and up. Maybe some day they will make led fog for 2009-2011. That's just too bad.
Here is the list of Acura cars that they will fit.
Acura ILX 2013+, Acura RDX 2010-2014, Acura TL 2012-2014, Acura TSX 2011-2013

Wow, that's a shit ton of money to spend on fog lights. I'm too cheap to spend more than a bullet at one time. HiD's for me.

Just make sure you also got the plastic male H11 connectors and not 9004. You will need them to properly plug in into your factory female connector. If you did not mention about it they will send to you in 9004 style as default. Did you mention about connector when you were ordering them from seller? It is straight forward. Take old fogs out put new ones in the same spot, use the same screws to secure them. Just do the alignment at night so that both fogs are on the same high level. I did mine on garage door. Do it from the bottom thro the holes under bumper with flat or Philips screwdriver. Have Fun...

i guess i have the right ones. the 9004 would only have 2 pins and mine have 4 just like yours. the slight difference in style of the connector doesnt mean anything. cant wait to get them on tomorrow.

finally got them on. I am very happy with how well they match my low beams. the install was easy although had to stop midway because of the rain. gonna wait till tomorrow night to make sure both are aligned well. but just looking at them now against the wall, they look pretty even.

thanks again jerry "o".

looks great!

I was just checking these out yesterday for the first time. They caught my attention and now I see you got them installed! Did you removed the front bumper? Or just used the access under the front bumper?

Just follow this thread for replacement of your oem fogs. This thread got pictures what needs to be removed in order to get access to your fogs. When you get the access to your fogs just remove two bolts on each side and just remove them. Save the removed bolts as you have to reuse them to secure your new led fogs. Have Fun...........
