Question for you all who have the DVD Navigation Unit......

I recently replaced my hard drive unit with a DVD unit and Im encountering a lot of freezing with it. Ive tried other disks and even another dvd unit and its still freezing. Its not detecting my exact location or even calculating my destination. Anyone else encounter this? Im probably going to try swapping out the gps antenna as its a different part# but from what I read the upgrade of the dvd unit should be a straight plug and play??? Any help would be great!

Thanks in advance!

It may be a faulty unit, where did you get it.. Is the laser dirty? recheck all connections to make sure they are tight. Could be a bad antenna but doubtful.

What are the chances of getting two faulty units? Actually with my luck it makes sense! 1st one I picked up on craigslist and the 2nd from a Acura salvage yard. All the connections are good. If it wasnt for the dumb clock thing on the harddrive unit I wouldnt be in this dilemma!

Both disks do have some minor markings but nothing to bad. Is it common on these dvd units to leaving markings?

The lens must be dirty try cleaning the lens on the unit, Not hard to do
3rd Gen TL had this issue and cleaning the lens usually worked.
