Motor Assembly, Drive Air Mix

Acura part # 79166-SEP-A02. That little motor that controls opening and closing of the heater valve via a little cable.
All the on-line dealers want around $250!

Any suggestions gang?

When I tried to buy in 2015, discontinued or no ETA available... i ended up just grabbing one from the junk yard....only 4 years later it has failed again... this time; instead of replacing, I'll try to clean the contacts, as that's what makes it stop working in the first place.

Are you sure it's the motor and not the valve itself or the cable?

I've circled the areas to clean.

This DIY is for 2g but the motor is pretty similar to 3g.

Paul, our star master mechanic in Northern NJ to the rescue! He took it apart, cleaned the contacts as described above, and WOLA! The heat works perfectly again!

Anyone in the NYC/NJ area are who needs work done on a Honda or Acura should call him, 201-562-8576. Tell him Tony Soprano shent ya!
