Older CLs. Do you change the transmission filer with each oil change?
170,000 CLS
It's been suggested on the site we change our transmission fluid every 25K or so. Some do it every 15K. More power to them.
With 100K plus 2nd Gens, and especially 150K plus do you think it's neccessary and wise prevention to change the transmission filter every time you change the transmission fluid?
Here are some killer pics of the transmission filter location. See posts by StonedCL #11 and #12.

I have not seen a DIY elsewhere. If you find, could you please post or pm me?
The part # is 25450-P7W-003
I know it depends on the individual car, how dirty fluid is etc, but do you think its wise on our now mostly high mileage CLs to just change the filter with every transmission oil change?

do not waste your time, at nearly $70 a pop at the local Acura dealer, I think I'll pass. The internal filter will get clogged long before that one does

Never mind Acura's brand of filters, they are just too expensive.
I'd do anything to prevent a transmission failure.

I have only done mine once since the trans rebuild. I did it at 20000 kms to remove any shavings that may have gotten snagged by the filter, if there were any..
But I think it's unnecessary to be honest.
Just clean the drain cap on the trans when u put fluid in cause it's magnetic it will get all the microscopic particles which is what will gum up everything inside and cause havoc.
Just stay on the fluid and ur doing everything u can, aside from a trans cooler
I just found out the tl type s 08 has a transmission cooler... What do you know.. Lol
