Received a few photos from Hickam lastnight. The first photo shows how the cylinder heads exhaust port is actually smaller than the flanges ID therefore we should be able to use them. This is great news cause they were about to become Matt's "shelf stock". ;-)

The final 3 pics show the beginning of the manifolds from the heads and the last is the brace of which the turbo will be mounted.

Yea looks like a tight fit and that is with no fans installed.

I want to ask what size temp sensor adapter do you have? I need to order one. Was it the 30mm?

Not really sure. I happened to make this one from the coolant tube that's beneath the lower manifolds on a j32a2. Exact match to the ID of radiator hose.

I'm happy your going the turbo route. I can't wait to see what type of power you make. I didn't know you have a auto trans. That will be consistent and fun!

Thanks man, me too. Just to let you know, I won't be running the turbo at its maximum potential for the engines sake. Although the motor could handle much more, it will be de-tuned to around 450-500hp at most. And yes, it's an auto.

Brian6speed, this is for you:

32mm is the adapter you're looking for.

^^^ you are detuning for the transmissions sake

IMO the engine will hold up 450hp fine....the AT might not be able to (at-least thats what I have seen on the 3G Side)

eager to see more

As long as I don't boost under gear changes and replace the fluid every other oil change or so, I can hopefully get a little play time out of it. But yes, eventually, death shall become of it.

Front bank all tacked up in place. Photo also illustrates how much room the man has to work with. All hoses will be thermal sleeved.

Went ahead and ordered a dual core all aluminum radiator along with two 12" Mishimoto slim cooling fans. This should help with reducing engine coolant temps as aluminum has way better heat transferring properties than plastic (side banks).

Correction, Hickam is turbo charging it. I'm just funding the project.

Might I add, he's made some good time considering he has limited time to work on the build. I'm very fortunate I have him to do the work. There's not many people one can trust whenever you're a car guy yourself.

Thanks. I ended up going with an eBay company that I have received firsthand feedback from called Radiator Classic. They also have a 99.3% feedback rating on eBay as well from 75,000 different people. I went with an 03-07 Accord dual core radiator (very close to AV6 specs) because it had the j-series radiator tube configuration. I payed $110 shipped and has a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects.

Had the pleasure of working on the Accord at Matt's shop yesterday. A close friend and I went after work to relocate the battery to the trunk and replace the radiator and install cooling fans. The radiator I ordered ended up not working due to the position of the upper hose but atleast we got the old one out. I ended up ordering a radiator from CSF that is specifically for the 3.0 6th gen Accord that was triple the price of the first one. Atleast we know this one fits.

Snapped a few pics while we there of Mr Hickams work. In person, it looks 10 times better.

Matt sent over a few shots of the downpipe fitted and tacked. According to him, this was the tightest fit he's ever done. Looking at a few of the shots, I realized how much time and attention to detail he puts into his work.

Looking good.
I don't like where the hoses sit in relation to the piping.
Is the new radiator going to have the same inlet/outlet locations.
Time for a custom electric water pump/cooling setup.

I'm honestly not sure how the auto will do in regards of traction...which is what I'm assuming you're referring to. I have yet to put it on the road. At 300hp, the trans. doesn't appear to have to much trouble but I also have 10.5" wide wheels atm. Guess we will see...this may just be the ticket I needed for a manual swap instead. ;-)
