I'm routing my catch can and have both vc vents going into each port on the can with a vent on top. Is this OK or should I "T" both valve covers to one port on the can and run the other port to my intake?

For mine I have one hose going from the pcv valve to the can, and the other line goes from can to the back of the intake plenum. I don't have a filter on mine tho so I don't vent on my engine bay.

No. You can either put a filter on it or a hose to the intake tube. I have mine connected to a hose then a t fitting that splits to the intake tube and the egr spacer paul made for me.

Hmm, I only connected a catch can to the rear PCV valve. Maybe I should do the front too.
Quite scary to see how much oil gets captured by the catch can

I ended up running the front along with the rear pcv to to the can and drilled a hole for a vent & filter since my catch can didn't come with one (god only knows why). I refused to vent back into the intake as I felt that defeated the whole purpose of having a can in the first place

Mine does not vent back into the intake, that is why I had paul make me the egr spacer(if i remove my intake and look at the tb it is still spotless). I prefer a can without a filter. The filter will vent fumes in the engine bay and put an oily film on things and dirty it up.

I made sure I bought a quality can that was baffled and has steel wool mesh inside it. This prevents the oil from going back into the IM. My can has a drain tube on the bottom with a open/close valve so I can easily drain it anytime.

Did you T the front and rear lines, then into the can, then from the can back to the rear valve cover? Have any pics?

I have not had the catch can on the car for some time now (since I installed new engine about 6 months ago). I had it between the front and rear pvc vents and it would pick up quite a bit of oil. I did not have it routed back to the intake but maybe I should have. Just been lazy though and haven't had a chance to put it back on

u are supposed to have 2 catch cans for our cars... at least thats what i did to my car.

i only checked them once. i have not seen very much in them tho. i dont rip my car except for the odd on-ramp. originally when i opened up my manifold to do the p2r manifold gaskets there was oil pooled in the manifold cavities. a year later when i went to clean the egr ports in the manifold there was literally not a drop of oil or any visible oil for that matter. so they do catch the oil, whether its a lot who knows... but i am happy it does what its supposed to

I'm just going to put a breather filter on the front one, and a catch can on the rear. I'm gasket matching my manifold and runners and want to keep them clean.

Nobody knows what the catch cans are in my car. Like 9/10 mechanics won't know lol.

430The front draws air from the intake so I don't think a filter will throw a code. I think you can pass emissions now as long as you don't have an engine code. Either way i'm going to get a tested this week before i do this stuff.

The front goes into in intake yes, and the rear goes into the rear manifold... They both go into ur engine To get combusted and go through the egr ports.

They may enter at different points but the front one is more important to put a catch can on cause it's putting fumes through the throttle body and all tls and iacv so it's way more important to address the front than the rear.

At least that is my conclusion.

I cleaned the throttle plate years ago and when I opened it up 2 years later, there wasn't even anything to clean

$10 catch can from Home Depot. Just a Husky air compressor filter and brass barbs. This is how much I caught after being installed for 1 month. The inside of the manifold is spotless.

It's also small and easy to empty. Just unscrew and pour out. The baffling is from a Stainless Steel Kitchen Scrubber, also from Home Depot.
